Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Aug 31 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews

Not recommended. The developer abandon the game. Its unplayable. The game last update was 4 years ago. And still unplayable and beta till now 2026. There is better games out there. Why isit unplayable? - Bankrupt loop. - Satisfactory meter broken. - No cheat. This is a failed game
Market Tycoon is a business simulation that sets out to capture the everyday realities of running a retail store, focusing specifically on the transformation of a small neighborhood market into a full-scale supermarket operation. Developed by Protection Games and published by Conglomerate 5, the game places the player in complete control of every aspect of store management, from layout design and inventory decisions to staffing and financial oversight. Its premise is straightforward, but the scope of responsibility it hands to the player reflects an ambition to simulate retail management in a grounded, practical way rather than through abstract menus alone. The game begins modestly, with a small retail space and limited funds, encouraging players to think carefully about how they allocate resources. Shelves, refrigerators, freezers, and checkout counters must be placed manually, and every decision directly affects customer flow and profitability. Stocking products is more than a cosmetic choice; items have expiration dates, forcing players to pay attention to inventory turnover and avoid over-ordering goods that might spoil before being sold. This system introduces a layer of realism that differentiates Market Tycoon from more simplified tycoon games, as poor planning can quickly lead to financial losses. Customer behavior plays an important role in shaping the experience. Shoppers navigate the store autonomously, browsing aisles, selecting products, and lining up at cash registers. Inefficient layouts or understaffed checkout areas can lead to congestion, dissatisfaction, and lost sales. As a result, players are constantly adjusting store design to balance accessibility and capacity. Hiring employees adds another strategic layer, as faster or more efficient cashiers improve service speed but also increase operating costs through higher wages. Financial management is at the heart of Market Tycoon. Rent, electricity, salaries, and restocking costs all compete with income generated from sales, forcing players to maintain a careful balance. Pricing strategies, discounts, and advertising options allow for some control over demand, letting players experiment with promotions to attract more customers or clear expiring stock. Choosing store locations further affects profitability, as different areas come with varying foot traffic, rental costs, and overhead expenses. These decisions collectively shape the long-term viability of the business and give the game its core strategic tension. One of the game’s strengths is the sense of creative freedom it offers. Players can customize their store layouts extensively, choosing how aisles are arranged and which products receive priority placement. Steam Workshop support expands this freedom further by allowing community-created content to supplement the base game’s inventory. For players who enjoy sandbox-style simulations, this flexibility is one of the most appealing aspects, as it allows experimentation without rigid objectives dictating how the game must be played. However, Market Tycoon’s ambition is tempered by its prolonged Early Access status. While the foundation of a compelling retail simulation is clearly present, many systems feel underdeveloped or lacking in depth. Long-term progression is limited, and the absence of more advanced management features—such as detailed employee development, expanded customer behavior, or narrative-driven goals—can make extended play feel repetitive. The pace of development has also been a point of concern for many players, as updates have slowed significantly over time, leaving parts of the original vision unrealized. Technically, the game is functional but unpolished. Visuals are serviceable and clearly communicate information, but animations and interface elements can feel stiff or dated. Quality-of-life features that are common in more refined tycoon games are present only in limited form, which can make micromanagement more tedious than necessary. These rough edges don’t prevent enjoyment outright, but they do remind players that the game feels closer to a prototype than a finished commercial product. Overall, Market Tycoon is a game defined by potential. Its focus on realistic supermarket operations, manual layout design, and inventory management gives it a distinct identity within the tycoon genre. For players who enjoy hands-on business simulations and don’t mind rough edges or limited progression, it can provide satisfying moments of problem-solving and creativity. At the same time, those looking for a polished, feature-rich management experience with clear long-term goals may find it lacking. Market Tycoon stands as an interesting and sometimes engaging simulation, but one that feels unfinished, offering a glimpse of what could have been rather than a fully realized retail empire simulator.
