Marginalia is a first-person horror game that transports you to Kestlebrook, a secluded valley where history becomes enmeshed with a strange present. Weeks ago Eric left. Days ago you got a letter telling you to come to him. Now you're here, but precisely where is here? And better yet, when?

Ranked #1 with Gone Home for the most boring and pointless game I've ever played in my life. You start walking in the direction of a tunnel. You quickly realize that you can't go any further there because you come across an invisible wall. So I went right into the forest. And then I ran somewhere for several minutes without anything happening. In the meantime, I've been thinking about which series I'll watch next and what I'll make for dinner later. I also wrote down my shopping list in my head. When I woke up from my daydreams, I was still out in the woods and nothing happened. I stuck the W key and went to the bathroom. When I was back, I stuck between 2 trees. I continued to press the W button and continued walking for a few minutes. Still nothing happened. Suddenly I was overcome by a very deep and tugging feeling of utter boredom and annoyance. I quit the game with ALT and F4, uninstalled and requested a refund.
I really love how loosely the player is guided to where they need to go, there's just enough guidance so you know where to go but you also feel sort of at risk of getting more and more lost, like you're finding your own way. Connor Sherlock is MVP for weird environment design

A masterpiece in atmosphere. Not too much meat on this game but I think it does what it intended to do perfectly. I especially enjoyed the forest environment and the ambient backing music. Solid 8/10!
It's good.
it takes about an hour to complete. the less you know about it going in, the better. it's not complex--it's going for something simple, and it achieves it. if the atmosphere and the aesthetics of the screenshots appeal to you, it may be for you if you're willing to meet it on its terms.

Very much recommend. The atmosphere is phenomenal, music is great, and the story is interesting. Well worth the cheap price
Yeah they right it's just a glorified walking simulator... it's aight I guess.
That's just pure magic. Connor Sherlock's games are the best walking sims and one the most immersive games that I've ever played. And ending... 10/10
An utterly spellbinding game. Play it on a dark stormy night and take your time. Let yourself get lost in the woods, and the beautiful music. No jump scares, but something entirely more scary - the promised slow, creeping dread. Plenty of the room in the plot for your brain to come up with horror. [Playtime says 0.1 hours, but I played it for an hour. Not sure why.]
