Maquette is a first-person recursive puzzle game that takes you into a world where every building, plant, and object are simultaneously tiny and staggeringly huge.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 23 → 0.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Completion: Story completed once, 14/22 achievements Overall Score: 8/10

A clever recursive puzzle journey that keeps finding new ideas
Recommended if you enjoy perspective-based puzzles that reward stopping, thinking, and experimenting.

Context
Platform: PC Controls: controller Playtime at review: ~8.7 hours Mode played: single-player

What This Game Is in 2-3 Sentences
Maquette is a narrative puzzle game built around a recursive world where changing the size or position of an object affects its counterparts across multiple scales. Its relationship story is familiar and somewhat predictable, but the strong voice acting presents it effectively, even though the narrative and the puzzle environments feel largely disconnected from each other. The core loop: explore each area, understand how its different scales interact, and manipulate objects until a seemingly impossible route becomes accessible. What makes it interesting/unique: the recursive environment is not merely visual decoration, but the foundation of puzzles that consistently find creative new uses for the same central idea.

What Is Especially Good
1) The puzzles are genuinely satisfying and occasionally demanding. Several required five to ten minutes of focused thinking, especially the key-resizing puzzle in
The Spiral
, yet the solutions generally remained logical rather than arbitrary. 2) The pacing works surprisingly well. Despite the speedrun targets suggesting the entire game can technically be completed in under an hour, an unhurried first playthrough remained enjoyable throughout its 8.7-hour runtime.

What Is Problematic
1) The controller automatically locks onto movable objects, which can unexpectedly rotate the camera while walking past them. It takes some adjustment, but rarely causes serious problems. 2) The story, environments, and puzzle mechanics do not feel meaningfully connected. Although the narrative is framed through a sketchbook, most areas consist of ordinary buildings surrounding the recursive dome, and the puzzles themselves have little relation to the events or emotions being described.

Technical State
FPS / stability / loading: stable throughout the game Bugs: rare Note: In the final area, grabbing the movable dome with X repeatedly caused crashes. Using B instead completely avoided the issue once the correct interaction method was discovered.

Price / Value / Monetization
Full price: worthwhile mainly if you also want to support the developers On sale: easy to recommend for puzzle fans Microtransactions / DLC: none

Summary in 2 Sentences
Who I recommend it to: players who enjoy creative environmental puzzles, recursive spaces, and occasionally having to stop and think through a solution. Who I do not recommend it to: players looking for action, an especially long game, or a story that is deeply integrated into its environments and puzzle mechanics.

Recursion is fun
Completely underrated puzzle game with concept that was back then ground breaking and an art direction that only gets better with modern settings
Short and sweet puzzle game with a good story and a great premise. I didn't encounter any bugs and it ran well at a stable 144hz on my machine. Puzzles overall aren't too difficult, there was only one which kept me for any meaningful amount of time, but I had a lot of "Wow that's really cool" moments just with how unique the puzzles are. However, some puzzles do require some hoofing if you don't quite nail the setup the first time. I quite enjoyed the story; The phenomenal voice acting, great needle-drops, and charming aesthetic made it easy for me to get invested, and it doesn't overstay its welcome at all. If you like love stories you won't be disappointed. Not much replayability unless you want to speedrun it for the achievements, but I'm happy with the purchase considering the high quality, if short, experience. Easy Recommend.
