Maneater is exactly what it sets out to be - dumb fun. You're playing as a revenge-hungry shark with a hilarious reality TV narrator following your every move, and it works. The world is detailed and exploring feels good, especially once you start getting bigger and stronger. There's something satisfying about growing from a tiny pup into an absolute monster that can launch itself out of the water and wreck everything. That said, the quests get repetitive pretty quick and it can feel grindy even though it's only about 12-15 hours. The combat's a bit loose and the camera can be annoying, but honestly that doesn't kill the vibe too much. It's one of those games you play to zone out and cause mayhem, not expecting anything deep. If you're looking for silly shark chaos, this delivers.
Beat the game after 11 hours of playtime, secret evolution if you 100% Landmarks on zones. 10/10 game. Catch it on sale.
