Reviews
Never release new Sets on time because they are extremely lazy, a company suffering from their own success and abhorrent corporate culture. Working on an ancient game engine with no plans on improving themselves in any way in sight.
It's alright I guess.

MTG Arena Limited Events: An Absolute Scam Disguised as “Fun” I’ve been playing MTG Arena for years, and the limited events (Draft and Sealed) have officially become the biggest rip-off in the entire client. Here’s why these events feel like pure daylight robbery: The Economy is Rigged Against You Entry fees are brutal. A traditional draft still costs a mountain of gold or gems, and the “rewards” are a joke. You can go 3-3 or even 4-2 and walk away with basically nothing of value — a handful of packs that open into more useless bulk and wildcards that never seem to appear when you actually need them. The expected value is garbage. Arena knows most players will lose money over time, and they design the reward structure so that only the absolute top finishers break even or profit. Everyone else is just feeding the machine. Matchmaking and Queue Times Make It Worse Nothing like spending minutes in a queue only to get paired against someone who clearly has a perfected archetype while you’re stuck with a medium pile. The matchmaking feels completely opaque, and the higher you climb in a run the more it feels like the game is actively trying to end your streak so you buy more entries. Ranked drafts are especially toxic — one bad pack and you’re already behind, then the algorithm piles on. Constant Power Creep and Set Design Issues Every new set ships with limited environments that are either completely broken (one or two colors/archetypes dominate) or so low-powered and swingy that games feel decided by who opens the better rares rather than skill. Arena then forces these formats into the event rotation for weeks while the meta is still a mess. You’re paying real money (or grinding for hours) to play a format that feels half-baked. The “Free-to-Play” Illusion Sure, you can grind gold… eventually. But the daily/weekly rewards are deliberately tuned so that consistent limited play is almost impossible without spending. Want to draft more than once or twice a week without opening your wallet? Good luck. The whole system is designed to create FOMO and frustration until you crack and buy gems. Bugs, Client Issues, and Zero Accountability Add in the usual Arena classics: random disconnects mid-match that count as losses, animation lag that makes combat a nightmare, and card bugs that somehow only get fixed after they’ve ruined dozens of your drafts. Support is useless. You lose your entry fee and get a shrug. Limited used to be one of the best parts of Magic. On Arena it’s been turned into a slot machine with extra steps — expensive, frustrating, and carefully balanced to extract maximum money while delivering minimum actual fun for the average player. Unless you’re a high-win-rate grinder or happy to burn cash, just skip these events. Your wallet and your sanity will thank you. 2/10 – would not recommend unless you enjoy being farmed.
