Stats
How fast this game is gaining ratings — the activity signal available where a store publishes no sales or install numbers.
Measured from our own daily snapshots, not reported by the store. Deliberately not converted into sales: a one-tap rating's ratio to copies sold is unknown on this platform, and guessing it would be worse than leaving it out.
Sums Steam only; App Store, Epic publish no volume signal, so the true total is higher by an unknown amount.
Matched by title — a reused name can pair the wrong games. * is a critic aggregate. Prices and positions are each store's United States storefront; Epic charts worldwide. Audience and Score too, except Steam's, which is worldwide.

Pay to win slop Be prepared to drop hundreds of real life money for fake game cards to barely stand a chance against any of the 3-5 meta decks every other player is running. Greed in its purest form. All the positive reviews are very obviously bots
Great game horrible economy Cubes are overpriced for phantom drafts where you keep no cards, wildcards are too sparse with no dusting system for cards you don’t want - improve it or I won’t spend more money
Crashes a lot Crashes a lot and needs to be connected to the internet so no great way to play on planes
What? The? F? This is the worst attempt at a game I’ve ever seen. I’ve played magic for a LONG time. This wouldn’t let me get through the introduction. I’m not spending any time trying to make this work.
RNG is rigged its only fun if you dont spend money on drafts. I am confident when i say that The RNG is not true random, and that the games are designed for you to lose and need more and more gems. If you want proof, take notes on your catd draws and starting hands, as wel as deck matchups, if you pick a certain archetype, you will be matched against the archetype that you are weak against (almost every round) - when you lose 2 in. a row, thr 3rd match will nearly always be an easy win for you. The list goes on and on but it is most sefinitely structureed and not true random. Scry 2 mechanic draws 2 lands a HIGH proportion of the times you trigger it. I really wish I didnt buy cards on here because now i feel locked in, as i cant sell the cards for gems to draft more and the finally quit , or redeem them for physical copies. so i keep playing. Dont fall for the trap. stay free to play if u do play. these guys r crooked
Limited The game is solid buts its limited has way too many updates for nothing new to pop up and the card selection is far too limited like vishgraz doomhive isn’t in the game but they allow some broken cards and it leaves a lot of combos or interactions out there irl that would be more interesting plus if you have a pc just download spelltable wotc owns it you scan your cards and play it but in a pod/ home brew way better just gotta have a camera also grab cards the can be proxy cause spending big amounts of money online for a deck that costs five times the amount irl is insane but it’s nearly $30 to build online with a decent setup and please could you be like Konami and add the feature where you can dismantle the card for the mythic or rarity tokens so if I have a card I don’t like or care for having four of it I can atleast use the feature to get a card of that value
My review of Arena. As a fairly long time player of MTG, I like the opportunity to play it on mobile. There are a few things that could be better: Arena should add a format with more than two players, would definitely help make the game more fun. Price rebalancing, would be better if events were cheaper to enter, especially due to the winrate. Because of the price of entering events, it seems like only overpowered decks can really play in events. At least, I’ve never been able to get past 2 wins in an event before I run out of lives. Loading times are okay for me, although a few crashes are annoying, but not as bad as other reviews may say. For the most part, a fun way to play magic, but it does make IRL mtg a little less fun, because it’s harder to get cards that combo well. Have had mana issues in many games, but nothing a deck tweak can’t fix (most of the time). Although it can definitely be hard to get wildcards (especially mythic), it is possible to play and get a good deck without paying money, as long as you can accept some pay to win decks. Matchmaking wise, can be fairly balanced, but seems not always. Unimaginative player base is sometimes a problem, but that isn’t necessarily an issue the app can fix. Overall great game, but with a few issues.
Still horrible, and not getting better This game is awful. 90% of the time people and/or self just rage quit. When you do play 75% of the time the algorithm only gives lands. The imbalance of card abilities has gotten way out of control, and every event usually ends without a single win. Today I went 0-8 in events, used up all my coins, and never even had the decks draw me a single creature or spell card. Overall, worst game ever made. Big miss WotC, very disappointing that you chose quantity and promotion over quality of gameplay, but I guess we shouldn’t be surprised by a company who sold out for fanfare.
Rigged Matchmaking Recent matchmaking has made it near impossible to reach higher tier success. Constant mana flood or mana droughts, opponents who seem to always have the right card at the right time. Conversely, opponents quickly quitting due to the same problem. Hard to believe that after three reshuffles, I still end up in a mana flood or mana drought.
MTG is great but Arena is bad For new people getting into Magic, just play in real life. This game isn’t friendly to new players. The tutorials are nice and it’s a good way to learn the game and learn your cards. But after a certain point, it’s essentially unplayable. Whenever I play ranked matches, I either get no mana or all mana and no cards until I mulligan down to 6 or 5 cards. Also you’re always put against overly expensive decks where not only do you lose all the time, you don’t even get to play. Everyone’s first hand has unlimited counter spells. If you build your deck around it, there’s always new cards that will stop you from casting spells. In real life there’s always a card that is gonna be better, but the fun of the game to strategize and build a better deck. But you can’t do that in this game, even if you spend money the games are just based on luck and by “luck” I mean the algorithm handicaps one of the players into oblivion. I don’t want to call it a scam but it’s sketchy to say the least. I got into MTG about 3 months ago and I love it, but MTG arena is killing my joy for the game. I’m deleting and I hope new players stay away.
