Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.29/day in the week to Aug 15 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

NICE!!! :D
Relaxing fun game development simulator. It has it's flaws but for what it is and the price I absolutely recommend it. The game starts in 1980 in your garage and move on from there. I had a lot of fun before moving on to the sequel, the music loop is surprisingly good. There are many ways to keep the money flowing, the best I found was creating sequels to my IP's and the occasional mmo of them. I didn't much like the micro management of self production so I only used that to re release bundles and budget versions of my IPs. It's a great little game.

Great and very addicting game that has a few issues. I came into this game way late. I was going to get the second one but figured id try this one first cause it was cheaper. Must say I was very impressed. I booted it up and next thing I knew it was 3 am and i was wondering where the day went. It takes what game dev tycoon did and polishes it to a shine. I especially like how the genre combos that work make sense. I always felt like in game dev tycoon you needed a guide to figure out what works with what. Here it just makes sense, including the sliders. Not knowing anything about the system you can get pretty darn close just knowing what people like in each genre. I loved all the different ways you could play and make money but there was one thing i had an issue with...and its huge to me. Time... How fast the time goes by. I like to take my time and relax with a game like this. I dont want to feel on edge the whole time trying to do 50 things at once. Especially in the early game you will try to research all the new tech, then go and make or update your game engine if your lucky do a contract or a round of training, then go make a game and by the time you start making a game....the next tech is out and now you on an old engine. There were soooo many times Id want to start working on a game, but id have so many things coming at me so fast the next thing i know a year or two has gone by and i still haven't started my game. Even on the slowest setting. For instance at the start i may want to train up my character, then work on an engine, then maybe make a game. But i start training and by the time im done, two new tech upgrades have come. So I research them, then go make my engine, another new tech comes. So i start researching them but now I have a stack of contracts to do. Its always something. Thats my biggest issue. I cant just sit back and relax and take my time. Other than that...its a great game and I cant wait to try MGT 2, which ive heard is the much better version. Hopefully that one will allow me to take my time, especially when you consider that once the in game tech dies out....there is no more after so many years and all the games you make get lower and lower scores after because its made with old tech...even though you have the best the game has...and nobody wants to rush to an end game that punishes you for making it to the end game...lol. Overall...and easy B+ game.
In my opinnion this is the greatest game dev tycoon out there, not mad games tycoon 2 not game dev tycoon but the og Mad Games Tycoon, I mean seriously this game is hella immersive you can FEEL as if youre in the times you play in, and for only 60 bucks this game is a hell of a lot content, you get to make games with new features appearing up to the 2020s I think, You get the last new console component in 2030 and you can start the game in the 1980s, you can buy out developers and become teh sole monopoly that controlls the entire world game market with 200 million fans, or you can simply be a small stuido that dies and becomes a relic of the past, sure it gets repetetive after a couple playthroughs, but its really neat seeing how you can rise through the ranks to become the global leader in the market. The game really hits its peak when you reach the 2000s as thats when you unlock the internet and can start making MMOs and F2P games that are hosted on your servers, I really recommend it as its really immersive expereince is unlike any of the other game deveelopment tycoons Ive played. If I had to rate it on a scale of 0-10 Id rate it to an 8/10 as yeah it could use some new features.
I've come back to this game so many times through the years and still find it very enjoyable.
