Luxor

i had to mod it to even run. it's not okay to sell a game which requires and old system on a platform like steam, which isn't even supported on systems older than win10. anyways. luxor grabbed me like crazy back when i was a kid. like literally about 6 years old at most. such an odd game, yet it made so much sense to me. my love for ancient egypt might very well have sprawled from this game series. expect to spend some time troubleshooting to run this ancient software.

Aside from the game normally being priced at $9.99 and being difficult to get running on modern computers, Luxor has a few other issues I feel are worth mentioning: 1) There is no difficulty selection, and by extension, no way for players to practice difficult levels. 2) The hit-detection on the balls seem a little sketchy. They sometimes don't slot into where you shot them at. I have not noticed this issue in other marble-shooter games I have played. 3) The default shooting speed feels a little too slow for the pace the game sets after stage 3. This makes catching the speed power-ups a necessity. This issue is compounded by the lack of a practice mode I mentioned above. Despite this the game is still mostly enjoyable, with an attractive and consistent Ancient Egyptian-themed art style complimented by appropriate sound design and music, as well as simple and addicting game play. Wait for the game to go on a big sale, or just play the newer entries in the series. The newer Luxor games have difficulty selection, better ball accuracy, and are easier to get running on your PC.

Музыка и сам египетский дизайн - на высшем уровне. 7-мь шаров - 🔵🟢🟡🔴⚪🟣⚫ По сравнению с другими частями - эта часть прям 🔥🔥🔥. Единственная часть, в которой есть ностальгия и желание снова и снова играть в эту игру. Если вы купили эту часть - другие части я б вам не советовал!!!! В других частях - дизаин ужасный и музыка так себе. Если нужна альтернатива этой игры ( Luxor ) - то выше указал названия этих игр.

Luxor (the series) is definitely one of my favorite games of all time. It is like Zuma, but with an Ancient Egyptian touch and I'm all for it. As a kid I was so in love with the game and the weird but interesting hieroglyphs in it, that my whole obsession for Ancient Egypt culture started to grow and flourish. Today, as someone who already learned a bit of hieroglyphs, I'm again surprised by the dedication of the developers cuz some of the hieroglyphs are actually correctly used, and some paintings actually align with real relics. The majority of the "text" are unreadable cuz the writing orders are completely chaotic, but I can see that they have at least studied the Gardinar's list of Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs. Back when I was a kid, I used to think game developers would never go this far cuz they're "just making games"... but now, MumboJumbo is just like all the other indie game developers we know today. They are great artists who clearly enjoyed making these little games. A clear drawback of this game would be the repetition of maps. Every stage has the same maps and sometimes a new one designed for this particular stage (which is nice). It can get boring at times, but again this is a zuma game what do you want. Still a good game.
