Centuries ago, a primal magic surged from the earth's depths, fueling empires but twisting it's inhabitant and the world into corruption's grasp. Forests blackened, skies bled shadow, and rivers turned to poison.
But a less prevalent radiant energy was also born, and hidden within pure warriors, the Luminaries. Armed with the light, their goal is to reclaim the land, hurling back the blight.
Yet the Luminary's gift is double-edged, immortality that tempts the soul. Every 80 years, Luminaries must yield their light to a successor, or risk eternal decay. Defiant ones hoard it, swelling into godlike tyrants of darkness, the Ebonarchs
As a new Luminary, rise in power. Shatter the Ebonarch's abyssal power source to strip their immortality, and strike them down. Together with your fellow Luminaries, push back the Darkness with Light.

Really nice game for early access! Keep in mind this is IN DEVELOPMENT. There is even a roadmap! Its not large yet, but the graphics are great and the gameplay feels fine. The team are 2 people afaik, so dont expect wonders in development speed. However they are responsive on their Discord!

This game has great bones. There's definitely some room for improvement, but after talking to the dev, it really sounds like they've got some good plans and updates in the pipeline for the game. Couldn't be more excited for the updates and where this game is in even another year. I love the chill aspect of the game. This is one of those games where you can just sit back with a coffee or tea and just listen to the music while hacking down goblins and golems. Given that this was made by two people is actually insane to me. I love the exploration for rocks I can mine the gems from, the treasure chests, and the little stone gnomes you can collect. That's probably the thing that will keep me coming back is trying to unlock all the chests, collect the gnomes, unlock towers, and try to 100% the game :) If you like lite-RPG games that are chill and encourage exploration, with collect-a-thon elements, this game is for you and the Devs actually listen to the feedback.
Es ist einfach nur langweilig und von Early-Access zu reden ist eigentlich für die dargebotenen Inhalte eine Frechheit. Es ist eigentlich nur eine Technikdemo, mehr nicht, und dafür viel zu teuer.
Pretty bare bones at the moment as I'm sure others have commented. I know this game is very very early in development so I mostly wanted to list some things my partner and I did, and did not, enjoy as we played Luminary for the first time. Fun: - The sword play feels tight and engaging. I'd love to see more combos come in - the goblins running animation is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hilarious and if you ever change it I will never forgive you - the number of options in the character creation process. My partner especially had a fun time making a swamp hag fae person. Meanwhile I looked more like a JoJo character with my bizarre coloring and hair - The designs on the swords and bows. There wasnt a single upgrade we got were we didnt pause to admire the art. Everything was sick as hell - The spooky music near corrupted trees, and the purification process in general was fun for us - the way minerals EXPLODE when you mine them never got old. We were cackling for several minutes anytime we stopped to mine some ore - some of the chest placements were really tantalizing. I'm specifically thinking of the one near the portcullis just before the first stone golem - sniping gnomes we found was always satisfying - The gliding. There are a TON of BotW clones out there these days and most of them get the gliding wrong. The gliding in this game feels great. My only complaint is the game and I didn't always agree on when I should be able to pull it out. I think the game has some minimum distance or time since you were on the ground. Either way I often had to mash spacebar multiple times until the game decided I could glide. This mostly happened when I wanted to glide down small hills or off of rocks. Rather than off of cliff faces, or from towers not so fun: - several times we found that the game would just refuse to let us interact with chests. It seemed entirely random to us and we couldn't figure out why it happened. The chest could be guarded by goblins, or unguarded. The chest could be unused or partially used. Didnt matter, sometimes the chest would just not function. There was one instance where I found a sword that was nearly a 2x upgrade for my partner. So I left it in the chest for her to open.... only for the chest to cease functioning. Needless to say that was a rather low point in the night - as far as we could tell there wasn't any way to split stacks. That combined with the bug above made it very difficult to distribute goods like potions - on at least one occasion goblins found out the secrets of earth bending and were able to attack us from inside of rocks. This would have been mostly fine if it wasnt for the fact that the archer was able to snipe us with impunity until we found a way to lead it near the top of the side of the rock within sword smacking range - we were constantly losing track of each other. Especially since my partner was the size of a twig and had the same color scheme as the ground and sky. The bubble that shows up when you are really far apart is great, but is lacking when you are in more complex environs. We'd love to see the bubble's behavior be a bit more sophisticated. Perhaps if it accounted for LOS after some minimum distance like 10~20ft. - the lack of reward when purifying a tower was incredibly demoralizing - THAT on top of the sickest sword in the universe being destroyed when we purified it was enough for us to end the night Anyway that's all the big stuff that jumped out at us. There are tons more obvious things like the UI, lack of armor choices, enemy variety, etc. We werent so bothered by that it being such an early game. We'd love to check it out in a few months once it's had some more TLC. Hope you have as much fun developing the game as we did exploding rocks and making fun of the little green dorks
the game is fun and entertaining, just the right game to relax without complexities, im a bussy guys so i don't have time for complicated games, plus its fun and with good visuals, for a 2 man game this is great, eaguer to see how it grows.
Pretty Legit so far. I am glad I am here for the start of something that might end up be amazing. Lets RIDE....
This game has amazing potential. It is early access, but it has solid bones. The combat is fluid and challenging (I'm playing on Tier 2), and there are several game mechanics that, once fully fleshed out, will make this game world a place to live in for many long evenings. Moving on, the main reason I am recommending this game is because of the developer transparency. They're very active in Discord and are always communicating and accepting feedback. It is clear they are in this for the long haul, so I am confident in trusting them to follow through with this product. I am a believer in supporting behavior I want to see replicated, and these Devs have something special.
Love this game! Hope it gets developed more.
I t always impresses me when small passionate teams are able to pull off such a feat. I also love being involved with the journey. This is a early access but this two person team seems really passionate and I cant wait to see what this develops into. I was in on enshrouded when that first dropped and has been a great ride I feel like this has the same staying power. I played the demo of Luminary and the controls were clunky and the mechanics were unpolished. Now they feel much better. I loved finishing the demo again and then jumping off the cliff that was unexpected. This is a fresh playable game that is filling in where the cumbersome RPG titles weigh the experience down! Im happy to support and get in early; with a discount to boot. Rock on!
