I absolutely love this game ! It kind of feels like playing a Nintendo game, which is super cool. The world is really cute, and the gameplay is pretty simple yet really effective. At first, it feels like everything is too easy, but pretty quickly, crafting certain components requires you to scour the maps and forces you to explore to figure out how to get them. The freedom of flying the plane feels really awesome. The map isn't huge, but flying around and picking up all the hidden collectibles is still fun. I’m truly having a great time, even if a few things need a bit of improvement, like the inventory and plane storage limits which can get pretty frustrating. That said, I’m sure the devs will give us some fixes soon. If you're looking for a super chill game with a cute, colorful universe and a lovely art style, Lou's Lagoon is definitely worth checking out.

You ever have a conversation with someone and realise too late that you're both talking about entirely different things? That's what this feels like. The whole setting evokes nostalgia of Saturday morning television watching Baloo and Kit Cloudkicker get in to all sorts of trouble, doing deliveries with the 'Sea Duck', contending with air pirates. Oh what excitement to be had mastering flying my seaplane around the archipelago, running errands. I played for all of 48 minutes to finally fly the plane. No take-off. Just hit a button and cut-scene I'm flying. Plane controls are dumbed down to the point of irrelevance. Landing is another push button, cut-scene, done. Don't even get me started on this swirler nonsense. That's how you chose to design environment interaction? A vacuum cleaner? Refund requested.
A big storm has hit the islands, and Uncle Lou flew off to find out what caused it… but now he’s nowhere to be seen. So, it’s up to you to explore the islands, harvest and craft materials, and help rebuild everything the storm has damaged. That means flying from island to island, meeting some very interesting characters with a lot of personality... completing quests... and trying to uncover what happened to Uncle Lou. For me, there’s only one problem… Every time I pop into the Lagoon, I get lost and time goes by WAY too quickly. This game is just so wholesome, and I love all the little details. From the animals roaming around the islands to the thieves trying their best to be sneaky.
I love this type of game, always fun! A fun cozy salvage and crafting game. Delivery service that uses a plane to get around the islands instead of a boat, so that's new. The islands open up as you are sent for deliveries of crafted parts that you create on machines you craft. You have to fix the plane and then you can customize it to make it your own. You create you base and use machines craft parts. It's fun salvaging and crafting the different machines. You use a custom tool to pickup and distribute items, kinda like a gravity gun that sucks up or shoots out parts to fix things as you go. Like some other crafting games you set machines to create what you need and go do something else while the items are crafting for you. You get a helper pretty early to do the tedious collecting, if you don't like that sort of thing. I love salvaging and looking for items to collect. The NPC's are fun and I like listening to their stories. The pacing is pretty good for just coming out, I was sent to other islands which opens up more collecting and salvaging the islands as you go, and of course you will have to return later to get all of the goodies. The game does not give you exact instructions, instead they tell you what the end goal is and you figure out how to get there and what you need to craft. I like that a lot <3. I have not had any issues figuring anything out. When I came back the parts were made and I was able to move on, no waiting around with nothing to do. The game looks and plays great on my system. Very colorful, I love that too! The game is fun and I plan on playing to see what the game holds further in, Good Luck! I saw that someone said they beat the game, I like to enjoy and explore the games I buy or else why even get them in the first place to just run through it, that doesn't sound enjoyable to me. Happy gaming!
This game is so vibrant in both the colours, the world and the characters. I love how fun and chill this game is to play, and I'm so excited to keep exploring. It is important to note that it is not an open world game, and the plane only is used to fly between the islands. The only issue I really have is the lack of any mass storage, and how long some of the crafting takes to complete.
To make this game enjoyable, storage chests must be added. I had read the reviews, warning me about storage... I bought it anyway. My bad, as the youths once said. I will uninstall and wait with the faith that this issue will be fixed.
Instant Tale Spin vibes made me interested. However Game is Grindy and feels still like early access. Bugs, QoL, and Story. One of the biggest things is Crafting space and the economy. You should be able to craft multiple refineries to speed things up as well. Flying well its arcade flying. very dumbed down which isn't bad but I feel there is more room for improvement there. some of the animations with the gadgets are reused. like I upgrade my fishing pole but its animation is reused for the swirler. I am going to check back in a couple months to see if they add some updates. (Inventory space should be a quest reward and scale faster than just finding chests and hoping you can ease that pain.) if you have space in the the plane just add it to the character. make the inventory of the plane Unique. example have a Quest item that needs to be delivered. the Item is stored in the plane inventory. Increase crafting output. Have more places to craft. (your own island?) 3/5
Played it for a little time. Love the storyline so far. Really charming and cozy looking. Much worth it.
