Best Co-Op LOTR out there.
WB knows that the Legacy Edition is a massive waste of money if this one exists, so they delisted this one. Yeah, that's gonna be a negative review from me, dawg.
Maybe it is because I am nostalgic for this game since I grew up playing this game on the PS2 with my brother, but this is genuinely one of the best games I have ever played. I keep coming back to it. I search for games just like this one. I love the story and the game mechanics. It is probably my favorite game. I honestly just love it.

НЕ ДАЛИ КОПИЮ ЗА ЛЕГАСИ ВЕРСИЮ
If you still own this version, the Legacy Edition is way better. Come join the fun for less than $20. Don't listen to the haters, they are ALWAYS miserable.
the game is okay. it has its problems which there are many. but to leave a negative review for a game that hasn't been available for purchase in steam for the last 5-6 years is a bit much. did aspyr do a ♥♥♥♥ job with the remake? yes. am i gonna ♥♥♥♥♥ and moan about it in this version of the game? no, because im not whiny moron. :)))))))))
I would recommend this...Just can't buy it here.
Amazing, sadly they took it off sale to force you to buy the newer version which costs more.
Somehow better than 90% of modern videogames Shame that it's in the loicence hell forever considering it's LotR
I bought this a long time ago on sale, and never got around to playing it because I thought it was co-op only. (In fact there are bot friends, and while they aren't great they seem okay.) By the time I got around to trying the game, it didn't work anymore. Apparently, updates to Windows have undone certain problems which for a time broke the game and, at least for me, made it unplayable. So I was pretty excited to try it, only to find that it is INCREDIBLY tiresome. Movement is slow and clunky; attacks and positioning aren't nimble at all, so the game feels more like Monster Hunter than any combat we've seen in LotR media I know of. This wouldn't be so bad except that the enemies are relentless, maybe 30% as severe as easy Vermintide, which is saying a lot for a game with this kind of movement. It forces a much smaller party to fend off many times more enemies than I've seen elsewhere including other LotR games, and this would be okay for a hard mode except it's not hard at all. To be fair I am playing on easy, but the fights go on and on and on. My 45 or so minutes in the game were spent mostly on a short tutorial fight and two unending onslaughts. Instead of easy mode cutting back on enemy numbers or raising the player's damage, it seems only to make the player into a bullet sponge while the trash monsters take 10-20 seconds each to put down. Two or three dozen enemies in a fight: light attack, light attack, heavy attack, killing blow - just exhausting. I cannot remember the last time a video game made me feel like this. And then no work at all put into the environments so far. The countryside looks like Fallout 3, washed out colors, boxes everywhere, everything just seems grey, and you're funneled through these tiny linear maps like something out of Dungeon Siege. Linear map design like this paired with dozens of obnoxious tanky enemies is just a hellish combination, and I don't think I'm going to subject myself to any more of it.
