Look Outside

It's immensely deep, pulling off atmosphere and enigmatic horror exceedingly well. Every time you think you've got an idea of how big the game is the 'camera zooms out', and you are left shaken by the magnitude of the whole thing; you hadn't formed an approximation of its scale, you had only seen a tiny fragment. The characters are memorable and interesting, the visuals are unparalleled, and the music is some of the best in gaming. Truly one of the most impressive indie games I have ever seen. To know it was made by ONE guy... as a SIDE project while working on his passion project... there's just no end to how impressive this really is.

I can't believe I never left a review for this game. I cannot recommend Look Outside highly enough. The art is amazing, the music is incredible, the writing is excellent, the vibes are impeccable. I hesitate to go into any kind of detail as I think it's best experienced knowing very little but it is beautiful and horrifying in so many ways and I absolutely adored it. The combat can be extremely challenging and the save system (on normal difficulty and higher) can be extremely punishing at times but once you have some party members and a feel for the game I believe anyone can succeed. This is one of my favorite games of all time. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

Damn, this game is sick as hell, in both definitions of the word. Absolutely fantastic artwork that genuinely wigged me out a couple times. Music was great and really disconcerting sometimes. The game is actually really funny as well at times, these moments that made the characters feel way more human even though they're made of pixels. Now I just have to decide on whether to go and get the other 110 achievements I didn't get...

Amazing. Gives House of Leaves/Southern Reach series energy.
