it's cute, and a very simple concept. I enjoy the fact that you can bring your NPC friends with you for traveling, I think that's a unique thing that I wish more games did. I wish there was more to do, or more decorations, but it's been 4 years.

This is a fun, Stardew LITE (very lite) style game. You can craft, harvest food, cook, sell, all the standard life sim actions (fishing, mining, etc.) in a cute little world. It's one of those games you can pop on for a little bit and just have a great time. There's no dying, there's no terrible consequences I've found so far. It's also cool to see that I am still unlocking things this far into the game. I will say it's kind of a grind to get the in-game currency and continue to upgrade different buildings, however the upgrades don't always use the in-game currency, sometimes it'll be planks or ore.
My sister gave me this game because I like games like Stardew, Animal Crossing, and Harvest Moon--and boy do I love her for it! This game is soooo cute and fun. It's like a mix of all the games I mentioned, but I think it's more simple. For example, the fishing in this game is very easy. There's a stamina bar, but no health bar like in Stardew (which means no fighting--which I personally like). It's easy to level up in this game and it's easy to build relationships too. There's no timer of the day (which is nice for me because timers usually get me anxious) but depending on how much stamina you use, you get tired and night time comes. Something else I really appreciate about this game is the character dialouge-- I actually take time to read the letters my villagers send and their conversations are nice and fun. Just a really cute game all around, I definitely recommend it!! <3
It's fun but i'm not able to finish it at the end it feels too grindy to get all the flowers. If you're in it for a farm sim this is a great game, if you're a completionist prepare for a grind. Overall though it's a good game, i hope to see more from the dev.
Cozy little game to waste time on. Plenty to do and collect to keep you busy for awhile. Definitely worth picking up if your a Stardew fan.
I needed something to fill an Animal Crossing shaped hole in my heart and this was it. I wasn't sure about the graphics style at first but I'm so into it now. I don't have a single bad thing to say about this game and honestly, I am SHOCKED I don't hear more about it in cozy game circles.
Nice little game. You do nothing wrong by trying if it is your taste. You can control everything with your left hand on the keyboard, no 2nd hand needed, no mouse needed. You get wood and stone and ore and build structures and furniture and you farm a little bit and you fish a bit and then the day is over and you HAVE to go to your house and sleep or you are punished by being unable to do a lot the next day. Everything works and is understandable and you can have fun. Relaxing, no stress. But,

not more than x plants at once,
not more than y fruit trees at once,
there are only a certain number of fish each day
...
It just... does not work for me. I don't want to be told you can only plant 10 carrots, now go and do something else. I don't want to be restricted like that. For god's sake, it is a single player game. Why restrict? For fairness? I'll give a thumbs up, but not because I'll play this game, only because I think it is good in what it wants to be, I just have no idea what it wants to be. At least not a game for people who want to scratch their farming itch. :-(
Overall, I really liked my time with this game. It was a cute, minimalist life sim game that you can boot up, play for a few minutes, then set back down. I agree with a lot of the negative or mixed reviews, though, in that it's a great game...until it's not. The late-game content is really lacking and grindy, which is a shame because this game could've really shined. PROS: - I LOVE that time progression is tied to your actions. It can be a bit stressful to have to watch the clock in other farming/life sims; it can force you to "optimize" what you do with your time, and while I like being efficient, sometimes I just wanna relax! Tying time progression to your actions allows you to walk around freely, travel, decorate, and talk to people without losing chunks of in-game time. It made your Stamina a valuable resource as opposed to an obstacle. I wish more games did this, honestly! - Speaking of which, there's no "deadline" for end game. Seasons change, there are events/holidays, and time progresses, but there's no goal. You can genuinely take your time without needing to sate Grandpa's Final Wishes by year 3 (SDV, you're one of my top 10 games of all time, but sometimes I wanna relax, not be haunted by my ancestors LOL) - The art style is really cute in its simplicity. I love a good pixel game, and the graphics were cute and clean! Sound design for interactions, music, and ambiance was also very pleasing. - You're truly free to design your town however you like. There are some limitations, but changing the elevation of spots, water sources, paths, moving buildings, etc. is all incredibly easy and can be done at any time! No need to wait on a timer for rebuilds or construction, it's all instant. - I just really liked the different areas of the games. The biomes/locations were cute! - You can date every character before choosing a marriage candidate (if you even want that). It was nice being able to see everyone's lil cut scenes without a guilt trip or having them locked away behind 8 more replays. - You can pick a villager to walk around with that day and they'll follow you everywhere. This'll boost your relationship with them, or is just a cute thing to do! - Tasks are simple button clicks, which I think worked well for the style of this game. Other complained that cooking is a few button clicks + auto craft, but the game isn't very in-depth mechanics-wise, so I thought it was fine. It honestly would've bothered me if everything in the game was simple 1 click mechanics, then suddenly I was playing Cooking Mama to make a simple salad for my dewdrops. - The plot of the game is actually really charming! You're the Hero that saved that world, but your final conflict left you an amnesiac, so you must start over. You have existing relationships with people that you now have to navigate, rebuild, or leave behind. You can learn about the previous conflict and your old enemy. Which, unfortunately, leads me into my critiques... CONS: - Unfinished story. The story is great and interesting. It doesn't sell itself as the Next Great Epic of our times, and I'm fine with that. I was genuinely invested! Except you reach the end game and... it just stops. There's no more answers (despite dialog pointing you and other characters towards seeking answers), it just ends. It's not an "open-ended question" type of ending, or rushed to a conclusion, it literally just feels like the devs got bored and shipped the game, or forgot to finish their Word Doc. Which absolutely killed any desire for me to continue beyond that point. - I didn't find the grind too tasking until I got to late game and then, my god, it became a slog FAST. I tried to hard to collect all the books, flowers, etc. but it just got to a point where I gave up. Getting this game to 100% is deceptively difficult and tedious, and I never managed it because at that point it didn't feel rewarding, it was just painful. - Gardening is also deceptively difficult and tedious??? Crossbreeding flowers takes so much time in and out of game, even with guides, and it's all RNG. Gardening is usually one of my favorite tasks in a game but I didn't bother with it in this because it was aggravating. - The stores literally sit empty once you buy everything from them. Which makes sense bc you bought all the Unique Items but still feels weird to go into an empty shop LOL - You can't raise your relationship bar with the 1 non-dateable villager, which was uhh... kind of gross to me? You're not forced to romantically pursue anyone to befriend them, but the 1 non-romance character will forever sit at 1 heart because that's not an option with him. Which was a shame because I actually found him to be one of my favorite characters! - There's a card game but I don't gravitate towards these types of things so I literally never did it. On one hand, I've heard it's awful, on another hand, I like that it's completely optional. TL;DR Fun game if you want something simple, relaxing, and cute! I genuinely enjoyed my time with it, and wish more life sims utilized some of its mechanics via time progression and customization, mechanics that TRULY make it feel "relaxing and cozy." However, the story drops off abruptly, late game grinding is a slog, and the game generally has no replayability because of this. Take that as you will!
Really super cute game! It's addicting, adorable, and I really love having the ability to fully customize your town, build and decorate houses for its inhabitants. At a certain level it does get really grindy and repetitive, but that isn't something I would bash the game over! My only, /only/ complaint is once you've unlocked a certain area near the end, there's just... nothing. There's no end game, and nothing really to do in this area except go, "Oh, cool." Still... it's a nice, casual game you can easily 100% complete with enough time!
