Little Nightmares II

I enjoyed the first game and I played through Little Nightmares II slowly, over about a week. On one hand, I appreciate the developers' efforts to do something *different* in the same world, the enemies are all quite distinct from the first game, and their choice of a sprawling downtown instead of a tightly woven boat from the first game gives the game a unique feel that still feels cohesive with the world of the first game. This game is also good at being scary, and conveying information about the massive enemies that stalk the map to the player. The companion AI character is also quite good. She's never a burden on your play, and you can watch what she's doing to see when you need to be careful about avoiding enemies, or where you need to run to escape them. But the bugs, particularly the props that are vital to game progression but fail to consistently load into the game (you need to have a walkthrough open to realize when a prop has disapeared so you know to close and restart the game) and how the player-character does not reliably do what he's told (he loves to refuse to pick up props and get caught on invisible terrain), make this unrecommendable given the cornucopia of other games available in this world and our finite hours upon it. Play Little Nightmares I and the associated DLC, then go on with your life.
