About
Welcome back!
The game nobody expected is getting a sequel no one's ready for - bigger and more chaotic than the last.
If you have not played the first game - feel free to start here. Lingo 2 has a totally new rule structure, so you can play them in either order.
If you did play the first game and only enjoyed solving the word puzzles - you might want to let a friend try this first. There's always Scrabble!
Featuring...
New Puzzle Mechanics - A complete overhaul to the system you had finally figured out. Beginner friendly!
Wandering - A large, winding, interconnected world to get lost in.
Music - Soundtrack by Icely!
Jumping - You can jump! Who doesn't love to jump?
Minimal Linearity - An open world that unfolds as you explore it.
Ominous Questions - Nothing scary; just making sure you remembered to switch the laundry.
Cubes - I didn't count or anything, but there are a few more cubes this time.

Reviewing after getting all achievements even though there is still some postgame content I haven't finished. Get this game if you are interested at all in wordplay puzzles. There is 50+ hours of content for $10, few puzzle games will give you that much value. A worthy sequel, not as rough around the edges as Lingo 1. The letter collection and puzzle rules blend into an interesting split of metroidvania and metroidbrainia, where you are keeping various areas in your head to come back to once you learn more of the mechanics or unlock a new letter. Puzzle themes are well telegraphed, navigation is more natural, answers feel less arbitrary, and the graphics are slightly improved. As with Lingo 1, the experience is really defined by the high points. There are times when I feel frustrated or lost, or feel that certain puzzles basically need a hint to solve. But there are multiple sections of Lingo 1+2 that contain some of the best puzzles I have ever played in a video game. Sometimes I get more dopamine from admiring the construction of a puzzle than I do from actually solving it. I'll happily trudge through some fiddly bits to get to the gold underneath.
Astoundingly expansive, moreso than any other puzzle game I've played. This is the game Antichamber wishes it was, and at its best it sometimes feels like the game The Witness wishes it was. You have no idea how deep the rabbit hole goes. As a warning, many of the rhymes only make sense in a specific accent, and several of the best areas that I presumed would've contributed to endings are easily missable and sadly don't factor into completion. Still, the content is all there, and approached with the right mindset most of it is wonderful.
I love this game so much. Any Lingo 1 enjoyers, don't be turned off by the different mechanics and indicators, this absolutely slaps.
The original is amazing. The sequel is amazing. They are different enough that they are both worth playing. I don't feel as lost in 2.
An amazingly unique, fun game. Highly recommended for anyone who loves puzzles, word games, and the like.
