Not quite as good as some of ebi-hime's other works, but as a VN by ebi-hime that still puts it above most of the VNs available on Steam. It's a short story that is written very well and has a very focused and good point. My problem is that it's just not that engaging. It only took me a little over an hour and a half to read through the entire thing, including the epilogue, intermission, and notes, but I also had to stop three times, because I was playing it late at night and was falling asleep. Ultimately, not bad and I like the message this puts out, but also a bit of a slog read, despite being so short.
I love it

Ebi-Hime games never fail to charm me and this one is no exception. It's a really simple story about a man in his adulthood who attends his mother's funeral and encounters a teenage girl during the visit with a...nice twist you could say. It's strength is the dialogue and the theme which I felt was concept of mortality and life in itself. How unfulfilling and empty the MC feels and how distant he felt to anyone else including his family. It's a short story but a great read. I do recommend this.
https://youtu.be/zOjnsgHh3zw Starting a much more depressed opening for the story the characters have some room to breath before transitioning into more traditional visual novel romance style.
A short and fairly simple VN. Rather frank and heavy, it carries messaging you might've seen before, but this is easily the most efficient and memorable I've seen it. The sort of thing I feel basically anyone could (and probably should) read.
Пустая трата времени. Три спрайта, клишированный сюжет и плоские персонажи. Практически весь текст подаётся в чёрном окне. Балдёж (нет).
I will be honest with the fact, that my main motivation to read this story comes from the fact, that I wanted to read „Sweetest monster Refrain“ and see how Robins story will develop. In this case, like with „Lynne“ and „Nothing & nowhere“ you are advised, to read “Lily of the Valley” before reading Refrain and i am glad that i did it. Not because the knowledge of this VN is required to understand the sequel, because everything is eventually explained to you, but because of the story itself. Lily of the Valley was a big surprise to me. Author introduced very interesting concepts and ideas, that to me are fascinating. Namely the real identity of the brought in title “Lily”. The main gist of the story is about a Man, who after funeral of his mother meet a girl, which he starts to talk with. However, there is much more to it. The writing is very creative and clever. If you read attentively, you can catch on clues faster, so that you may ne able to figure out what is going to happen. The game for most of it, reads like kinetic novel except for one choice, which with the player is confronted at the end of the story. I feel like, all of the choices should be read through, because they are genius and make the impact of the ending even stronger. You can really feel the “Sweetest monster” DNA in the conclusion. “Lily of the Valley”, is yet another story of Ebi, that almost brought me to tears. (It has nothing on “A winter’s daydream” tho) What helped it, is definitely the music, that the creator choose for this story. The soundtrack is fitting the plot like a glove. It’s regal, but also emotional and intensive when it’s needed. The fact, that I can enjoy it now, while writing this review, is a Testament to how well it’s done. It can be relished in, even outside of the story. It doesn’t need the plot to have the impact! I absolutely love it! I cannot say, that I also did not enjoy the visuals of the story. The refreshed 2017 version is significantly better, than the previous one and I am glad, that I can experience it that way. The art style is very similar to “Empty Horizons”. (I am glad it is only resemblance) Like in previous case, the design is unique and pleasant. Special attention deserve the backgrounds, that are outstanding in comparison to many other works, that I encountered. It’s really charming and sells the “feel” of the events well. I am glad to say that, “Lily of the Valley” will be the second novel of Ebi-Hime to get from me rating 10/10, or rather Rating:100/100 in the new system. This Story really fascinated me.

Арты супер!
Lily of the valley is a short visual novel that left a long-lasting impression on me. It handles different themes like loss and grief, and the writing is beautiful, compact and full of metaphors. It’s interesting that the story was set in Wales since this is my first time reading a visual novel set there. The characters are well written and even if the protagonist does not have a name, he still has distinct traits that make him different from the reader. I highly recommend it!
