This game gives a very realistic feel of how FPV flying really is. Would recommend this sim to anyone looking to get into FPV flying.

I learnt to fly drones in 2017 with Liftoff. For me to fly my actual drones is getting harder to do, where as sitting in front of a monitor with my controller is too easy. Of all the games i have (fpv & car) Liftoff is the only 1 that continues to update including today, April 2026. Those previous updates included the abillity to interact with moving vehicles which i find awesome and a great learning tool. I highly recommend this game.

The way tutorial is organized is absolute rubbish. You cannot select specific part of tutorial, you cannot just jump into specific sections. And on top of that in the middle of flying it freezes for next wonderful message. It shouldn't be like that.

I want to start with this being a VERY good simulator if you just want to fly and race drones, and has a very large focus on being realistic. However this takes away from the gameplay experience greatly. The controller compatibility is weird, some parts of the menu are mouse only and some are hard to navigate without controller, plus you practically need a controller for ingame flying. The freestyle points are calculated weirdly, some gaps feel like they should be counted and some don't, and it's very easy to just spam flips. The coolness factor of watching the replay does not correlate at all to how many points you get. And the tutorials are incredibly long-winded. The skipping feature is slow and there are these automatic demonstrations that you have to sit and wait through in order to actually try it yourself. AND also this is pretty nitpicky but i think the music is a bit repetitive, there are multiple tracks but i hear the same song twice quite often

Liftoff is a great way to practice flying skills and tricks. I would highly recommended it for someone who is interested in FPV Drones. I really like how it is accessible for Linux operating systems.
