Life is Strange: Before the Storm

Such a missed opportunity. Very little connectivity to the Main first game. You play as edgy to the max Chloe. Instead you should have played as Rachel and interacted with Chloe, Nathan, and Mr Jefferson in a true bridge between the prequel and main game. New characters are completely pointless since they all disappear in the main game, and what few returning characters that do show up are flanderized to all hell. Ranked as my least favorite LiS game because of how skippable and pointless it truly is.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm é a prequela do primeiro jogo focada no relacionamento entre Chloe Price e Rachel Amber. É importante ter jogado o primeiro para entender a história deste. O jogo é mais curto que o primeiro e possui apenas 3 episódios (e mais um DLC), porém eles são um pouco mais longos. Como a Chloe não possui superpoderes, o jogo usa um sistema de "bate-boca" onde a protagonista escolhe opções para tentar convencer a outra pessoa a fazer o que ela quer. Infelizmente, vencer ou não nos argumentos não faz muita diferença, pois a narrativa é extremamente linear e, embora o jogo frequentemente diga que "suas ações terão consequências", no fim nenhuma escolha que você fez importou, nem mesmo no final (diferente do primeiro jogo). Os personagens que não são a Chloe e a Rachel são muito mal aproveitados e o vilão, além de ser extremamente genérico (um traficante violento que quer grana), [spoiler]ele é derrotado de forma anticlimática por outro NPC sem nenhuma intervenção da protagonista (e dependendo da escolha que você fizer no final, ela nem precisava estar ali).[/spoiler] No fim, Before the Storm é uma oportunidade desperdiçada que acrescenta muito pouco à narrativa do primeiro e poderia simplesmente ter sido uma DLC. Não recomendo, infelizmente.

Como bisexual que soy, me encanta la historia, aunque se hace complicado jugarlo con una sola mano.

I still like Max more than Chloe, but by the end of Before the Storm, I started liking Chloe more than I did at the beginning. That is to say, it's not that she's a badly written character - I just don't (didn't) like her as a person. Not my cup of tea and all that. The story is good though, and the game is a good prequel. Teenagers are teenaging, and there are even bits of... something un-natural ([spoiler]I am looking at you, Rachel Amber, and the fire[/spoiler]) - although nothing outright strange like Max's powers.

2020年我第一次游玩奇异人生ip，用了一个星期慢慢的深入和理解Max和Chole之间复杂的友谊，说实在的，那一个星期的记忆对现在的我来说已经太模糊不清。当初在正传主观Max视角下的我不懂，为什么一个看起来外表叛逆的蓝发女孩会那么执着于找到一个对昔日挚友Max来说是陌生人的Rachel。 5年后的现在我懂了。Chole和Rachel之间不止拥有友情，还有掺杂着toxic和渗透致命结果的微妙爱情。如果是5年前的十几岁，在痛苦的青春期里遇见一个像光一样耀眼的女孩，我也会像Chole一样疯狂迷恋Rachel。她耀眼得几乎不真实，Chloe说：“人人都爱她，怎么会有人不爱她呢？”Rachel的魅力就在于虽然她是一位品学兼优的优等生，但Rachel就那么自然地带着Chole做了逃课、偷酒、偷窥、撒野，甚至纵火烧山这些不符合她原本身份会做的事情。她像是自带剧本的演员，总在表演、在试探、在控制，她看透了Chloe撒的谎，也轻而易举地烧进了她的心。那种聪明与狡黠，那双眼睛里藏着的自由、野性、欲望与疯狂。她完全主导了这段感情，她说什么那么Chole就会去做什么。Chloe什么都答应、什么都原谅，不由自主地陪着她坠入这场迷雾，随着Rachel一起沦陷，这段关系完全是toxic relationship。 我也不太了解Rachel，她对Rachel的真心和利用到底有多少。她更像是一把火，冷的时候会忍不住靠近取暖，却不自觉越靠越近被烫到不自知最后被烧死也甘之如饴。她是Chloe的执念，是Max的谜团，是我心里那个永远不愿被现实消解的蓝色羽毛。谁能忍住不握着她的手说点可爱好听的话一起傻傻地在月夜下漫无目的地散步，谁能忍得住在夜晚的路灯下不选择吻她？A KISS of course...
