"May you find your book in this place." Combat between the guests and the librarians breaks out as if it were on a stage. Defeated guests turn into books, and the Library grows onward. And eventually, get your hands on… The one singular, perfect book.

I knew coming into this game that it was hard as hell and it sure did deliver on that, many parts of the game where big jumps in difficulty that I struggled for hours to beat and were very annoying at times especially when your right there at the end on your 10th, 20th, or whatever attempt you were on just to lose at the end because of a bad roll but those fights were you finally triumph after everything make the reward all the better. This probably sounds corny writing this out but Library Of Ruina is one of those games that makes you strategize and think about what you have to do with a hard learning curve attached to it with a story that is so well written that it makes the all the time spent worth it in the end. I'm glad that I was able to experience this story all the way through from Lobotomy Corporation to now but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I'm not going to touch a deck builder for awhile. 10/10 would recommend to those who like deck builders, a good story, and a challenge.
This deserves to be celebrated as a work of art in every sense of the word. Literally the only problem this game has is how dry the tutorial/onboarding is, and the community has since made some solid "Ruina 101" guides to make the journey easier. It's also a game that will just demolish you and can make your brain overwork itself from times. And I still place this in my top 5 games of all time. It manages to nail every piece of a deckbuilding RPG while marrying its mechanics to its narratives in ways I didn't think game developers could be capable of. And just when it feels like it's run its course, like you've solved it, they throw you a new challenge and a new tool to keep you ever focused to the future. And your teams have a healthy amount of variety and gameplan to them, too! You get a lot of freedom in how you approach this game's depth. And the story... This is a story about the journey of people who've been hurt. People who've been castaway or ground underfoot by those above them in the totem pole. People who take desperate measures to live everyday. And this is a game about how your library. likewise, crushes those people to attain your goal. The irony of it all is not lost on the narrative nor characters, and yet the narrative pushes beyond that to explore more themes these sorts of encounters prod and philosophies to question. To respect your interest in the game I'll avoid saying too much, but this is by all means a game that truly explores the cyclical nature of humanity and society and doesn't shy away from it. Please, take the time to at LEAST reach the heights of an Urban Nightmare. You will see just what Project Moon is cooking by then, and will know for sure if you want to see even more from there. Support high quality games like this, I beg you. You can buy and gift this game twice for the cost of an old AAA game (triple or quadruple on a sale) that isn't even optimized or bugtested. You owe it to yourself.

very enjoyable combat and deck building but man are there A LOT of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fights on the last stretch of the game... the story is kinda whatever my only gripes with library of ruina are that, some of the ui sound effects are really annoying to listen to repeatedly, the human faces and the art style during combat are ugly, the floor realizations are excruciatingly painful to go through (skill issue on my part, i'm guessing...) and i think short stories should've been introduced waaay earlier into the game, i barely felt like i got to know the other librarians although that may be because i didn't play lobotomy corporation beforehand. i don't think the difficulty spike in urban nightmare is thaaat bad, i had been playing without knowing about the passive attribution system until then so the difficulty spike forced me to learn that and to make proper decks, which made me enjoy the game a lot more.
