LEGO® DC Super-Villains

Score: 5/10 This is one of the first games I've played from TT where the campaign is the only content that seems to have some relative testing involved, because the remainder is a nightmare to play through. Many of the quests will outright just softlock on you, either through random parts of the map not loading in or some event trigger not running, notably on the Booster Gold selfie quest, I had to relaunch the game several times just to get it to register I took a photo with more than just Booster. The quests themselves are some of the least entertaining ones I've had to deal with, since its all just pulling from a pool of 3 types: - Talk to some really specific locals - Find the object (Often meant for character-specific gasses that all get the same function across) - Fight a group of enemies/one boss (which don't have anything to make fighting them feel unique) With there being about 100 quests across 2 planets, the formula gets dry pretty fast, and I wanted to back off from 100% completion just because it felt like they were cramming in content instead of putting in some care and thought into the open world. Now sure, TT's stuff is meant to be for kids, but I 100%ed Lego Jurassic World earlier this month, and the open world content felt more engaging. Additionally, they didn't fully test the custom character creator, because certain attacks won't work if you enable it, such as the bullet attack. (This means any custom character with guns can't, well, shoot their guns. Seriously, how do you make an error there?!) The editor additionally suffers from the inability to control certain colors on parts, for example with Vandal Savage's parts, you can only control the color of the coat, and not the shirt or pants. Any torso parts that show a little skin also don't give you the ability to recolor the skin tone, so you're limited when it comes to which characters you wanted to depict without outright burying yourself in modding utilities just to have the torso part you want. Oh, also, don't bother with the DLC content, its only worth it if you want more customization parts, but overall, the missions just aren't fun and they tend to bloat your character selection with entries that make scrolling for certain characters a nightmare.
