Legends of Amberland II is the second in a series of games inspired by the blobbers of old, especially the middle Might and Magic games. It is a great improvement over the first with secret doors, temporary fountain effects, skills, and magic item "tiers" being my favorite additions. There is lots to explore, with many of the dungeons being unnecessary for the completion of the game.
Similar to the first game, it's a quick and relatively simple dungeon crawler. The game is mostly the same in many of the broad strokes, with most of the additions being small on paper, but those "small" additions make the game notably better when taken in full. Gearing felt more interesting, with late game gear feeling more valuable, magic attackers felt more useful, the towns felt more like places, and dungeons being just that extra bit more interesting. I also appreciate the somewhat more comedic tone of a lot of the dialogue.

This game suprised me in the best way. I expected it to be a cheap throwback game, but it is instead an expertly pared-down dungeon crawler experience. Compelling gameplay.
Fantastic game! Well done and I hope they do a 3rd installment. I love that games can once again be simple. Good story and a great casual game to play.
Loved Might and Magic 4 & 5 back in the day and this is obviously very heavily inspired by those games. Hopefully it does well enough to get a 3rd game in the series and I would love to see them add ranged combat like M & M . Two thumbs up.

I remember seeing the old Might and Magic games in the early 90's when I was too young to really understand them. Recently I've been wanting to come back, but after 30+ years those old games are clearly showing their age. Legend of Amberland II and the first one for that matter, give the look and feel of the old games, but with a bit more polish. I prefer this to the first one. it's pretty similar, but made some great improvements, like bows so your dexterity characters can actually create so good damage output.
I played the demo and enjoyed it enough to buy the full game! I have never played this genre of game before and though some reviews call it "basic," my experience is that it is a great level of complexity for new players to this style of game. A good on-ramp to "blobbers" and fun in its own right! I've just gotten to the Magic Store and the world has started to open up to my free-willed exploration; awesome!
No entiendo, cual es la diferencia entre el primero y este?? todo es igual y veo que la 3ra entrega es igual, podria haber lanzado expansiones del juego base.
