Peak writing. Best dialogues. Awesome characters. If you havent bought it yet? Do it, right now. This is like PEAK writing.
As a fan of turn based games like fire emblem I really enjoy the feeling of how ledgerbound takes my favorite aspects from it and adds a twist with the dialogue and the designs that are so fun and unique to look at. While i have a tough time with the burnout and time mechanics when it comes to interacting with your units I still find it really enjoyable and gives me incentive to replay the game and spend more time with other characters. One of the things I feel goes unnoticed with some games that come out now is the importance of making the UI interesting to look at interact with and ledgerbound has been surprising me every time i open up and see something new to interact with it. The story is made with alot of love and its very apparent when you play through the game and I am personally a big fan! :D She ledger on my bound till i UUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHH!

One of the Most Unique RPGs I’ve Played in a Long Time Ledgerbound is one of the most unique game concepts I’ve come across in a while. What really stands out is how its mechanics mirror real life, especially when it comes to time, priorities, and learning to live with your choices. You simply can’t do everything, and I love that the game doesn’t punish you for it. As someone who normally tries to be a completionist, Ledgerbound made me let go of that mindset. You have to accept that you’ll miss things, make mistakes, and sometimes choose one thing over another—and that’s okay. It makes your playthrough feel much more personal and, honestly, surprisingly freeing. I see what you're doing game. The characters are really one of the main highlights. The cast has so much variety and personality, with fully realized backgrounds and character arcs that make you genuinely want to spend time with them. And that time actually matters. You get to make meaningful choices about who you want to build relationships with, including people you work with. I really enjoy how this ties into the bigger theme of balancing life. You’re constantly deciding how to divide your limited time between work, relationships, personal growth, and everything else you want to accomplish. It creates this surprisingly relatable tension around priorities and burnout that I wasn't expecting from an RPG. The art and music are fantastic as well. Every area and character has its own visual and musical identity, and the creativity in both really helps pull you into the world and gives everything its own personality. There’s a great sense of playfulness throughout the game, but underneath that is a surprisingly thoughtful message about how we choose to spend our time. It’s asking “What are you willing to spend your time on?” "What really matters" Those questions are not directly answered but woven into how the story unfolds, especially as it ends in one of the most wild gameplay scenes for an ending. Truly unexpected yet somehow feels like the only way it could have from the beginning. 10/10 — What a journey
Stayed on the first actual combat to hear all the vegetables Aubergine had to say in that sultry little voice. Uh. 10/10
Overall I really enjoyed this game, enough to 100% it, which doesn't happen often. Its the first time I can ever recall listening to a story with such a "millennial" form of writing and pronunciation and actually really liking the end result. Most of the characters are likable, and the setting is actually interesting if you care to pay attention. The gameplay is very similar to fire emblem, through its simplified in some areas, more complicated in others. I played on what is essentially normal mode and completed all side objectives after around 20ish hours or so. The ability to replay battles in very nice since in about half of them you wont know what the final side objective is at the start. The downsides right now are the unfortunate bugs that ive encountered, many of which softlocked my game and forced me to restart battles. However the dev team on discord was very helpful and did their best to help me with my problem within an hour of me reporting it. Also the game is very much not in compliance with HR fraternization policies, you've been warned. Overall: Pros: -Mostly Likable characters who start out flawed and have great character growth and banter overtime -Fun gameplay loop with much needed retries built in to the "resturlude time" mechanic -Actual consequences for character interactions and choices -Fun "corpo fantasy" setting that didn't get pedantic -Full voice acting for every line of dialogue -Actually challenging for a strategy game Cons: -Lotsa soft lock and menu bugs right now and some weirdly messed up dialogue recordings -A couple characters I just couldn't stand, didn't like them from start to finish
Quirky, witty, and an interesting twist on long standing game genres. I genuinely look forward to every line of dialogue and found myself chuckling between every battle.
Played the demo and became instantly hooked on the game's characters, art style, dialouge, etc. Now playing the full game I love it even more, the voice acting is phenomenal, the story is good, the characters are all great, the combat is fun, and the mechanics and different things you can do at camp like progress relationships and get cool items just make it even better. Highly advise this underrated game, it doesn't get enough love.
Enjoying this game immensely so far! The writing, voice acting, and artwork all stand out as some of the best I’ve seen — I’ve laughed out loud at least a dozen times in the first couple of hours, and I felt hooked on the story, world, and characters right away. I don’t have much experience with the tactical RPG genre, but at least on normal difficulty, the game has done a good job of making it feel like goals are achievable and teaching me how to play without being overwhelming or frustrating. I’ve seen a few reviews that don’t care for the time management system — it may not be for everyone, but I was personally surprised by how much I enjoyed it. In the few other games I’ve played with “resterludes” (the delightful in-game term for the downtime between battles), they tend to feel a little bland — go through the motions of talking to all the characters to make sure you don’t miss any interesting conversations, maybe mess with some gear, etc. This is the first game I’ve seen to fill that routine with interesting tradeoffs. I’ve really enjoyed the way the system requires some thoughtfulness and interesting decisions for even the non-battle aspects of the game — thinking through those decisions has for me been just as interesting if not more so than the battle strategy. The aggressive auto-save hasn’t bothered me much; I've mostly appreciated the removal of temptation to avoid all consequences...though I did once misclick in a resterlude and take an action I hadn’t intended, and wished I could have undone that. Maybe the devs could add limited single-action undos for misclicks without compromising their vision of choices having cost? That was my only minor quibble though, and it’s certainly more than outweighed by all the good. On the whole, this seems like a great game with an over-the-top wacky yet endearing cast, laugh-out-loud comedy, and some fun strategy mixed in. Would definitely recommend! P.S. Do yourself a favor and spend time reading the newspapers during the resterludes. Some of the best comedy gems are buried in those walls of text!
If you like stories like Baldurs gate and Vox Machina then give this a try. The game could do with a manual save. combat is fun while not ground breaking. everything else is amazing so far. The story is great and unique with how they approach saving the world. the art style is fantastic, every looks so good I only wish it could be fully animated scenes, still great though. The voice acting is top notch some of this which I would think is boring has been interesting the whole time (so far) it makes you want to talk to everyone, that and the fact that its usually beneficial to you, to do so.
Been having a blast with this game! Love the humor it's been great! Only critique I could have is the time management in the camp felt a bit constraining, but they are actually releasing a toggle for it here shortly! In short, romance Jazz, relax and have a good time
