Last Command: Prologue offers an inventive introduction to an action game that merges the familiar movement concept of Snake with intense bullet-hell encounters. Developed and published by CreSpirit and No Stuck Game Studio, the prologue demonstrates how two seemingly unrelated gameplay styles can complement each other. Rather than freely maneuvering a conventional action character, players control a Crawler through digital environments, collecting Data while avoiding increasingly dangerous attacks. The result is immediately recognizable yet refreshingly different from most traditional bullet-hell games. Movement forms the heart of the experience. Navigating the Crawler requires awareness of both its position and the threats developing around it, while enemy projectiles can quickly transform relatively open arenas into dangerous spaces. Collecting Data is not merely an optional distraction because it contributes directly to the offensive side of combat. This encourages players to move toward objectives instead of simply remaining in safe areas. Additional abilities such as Dash and Analyze provide more flexibility, particularly when complicated projectile patterns begin limiting available escape routes. Boss battles are among the strongest aspects of the prologue. Encounters revolve around recognizing attack patterns, finding openings, and maintaining control when the screen becomes increasingly crowded. Different attacks demand adjustments rather than allowing one reliable strategy to solve every situation. The challenge can become demanding, especially for players unfamiliar with bullet-hell games, but improvement is noticeable after repeated attempts. Learning how an attack works and eventually navigating it successfully creates a rewarding sense of progression based primarily on player skill. The module system adds another layer beyond reflex-based action. Modules grant useful abilities, while certain combinations can activate Resonance Effects. This encourages experimentation and gives players reasons to reconsider their setup when facing difficult situations. Although the prologue cannot explore progression as extensively as a full-length adventure, the system demonstrates that character development has more substance than simple statistical upgrades. Selecting complementary effects can influence how comfortably a particular player handles the game's challenges. Its digital science-fiction setting also gives the action an interesting narrative identity. Humanity has disappeared, leaving behind a world inhabited by sentient programs that have developed their own existence. Exploring this environment gradually introduces mysteries surrounding humanity's fate and the nature of the digital civilization that remains. The story does not overwhelm the action, but it provides context for exploration and gives the strange environments and characters more personality than a collection of disconnected arcade stages would have offered. Pixel-art graphics fit the concept particularly well. Bright effects, digital scenery, character designs, and large projectile formations create a visually energetic presentation while maintaining a distinctly retro flavor. During demanding encounters, the colorful patterns can become spectacular as projectiles occupy large portions of the screen. The visual direction successfully supports the idea of traveling through an artificial world while giving the game an identity that stands apart from more conventional science-fiction action titles. The main concern is accessibility. Combining restricted Snake-inspired movement with bullet-hell patterns creates a learning curve that may initially feel awkward. Players accustomed to unrestricted analog movement can require some time to adjust, and later patterns reward precise positioning and quick reactions. Those who dislike repeated attempts against difficult bosses may find the challenge frustrating. Players who enjoy studying patterns and gradually mastering encounters, however, are much more likely to appreciate how deliberately the mechanics work together. As a prologue, the experience is naturally smaller than the complete game and should be approached as an introduction rather than a full adventure. Its limited scale restricts how deeply the progression and narrative can develop, yet it provides enough material to communicate the core ideas effectively. More importantly, it demonstrates that the Snake and bullet-hell combination is not simply an unusual gimmick. The mechanics create genuine strategic tension by making movement, collection, survival, and attacking interconnected parts of each encounter. Steam Deck compatibility is currently best regarded as unverified rather than officially supported. The modest technical requirements and relatively straightforward controls suggest that the game may be capable of running on the handheld through SteamOS and Proton, but the absence of an official Steam Deck compatibility rating means players should not assume completely trouble-free operation. Individual configuration or control adjustments may be necessary. Last Command: Prologue ultimately succeeds as a creative preview of a much larger concept. Its unusual movement system gives familiar bullet-hell mechanics a different tactical dimension, while boss encounters, modules, Resonance Effects, pixel-art presentation, and the mysterious digital setting provide additional substance. The difficulty will not appeal equally to everyone, but players who appreciate challenging pattern-based combat should find plenty to enjoy. As a free introduction, it provides a convincing demonstration of the game's identity while leaving enough unanswered questions and unexplored mechanics to make the complete adventure appealing. Rating: 8/10

When you select Korean, the screen is in Korean, but the dialog is in English. Can you fix this?
