Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.29/day in the week to Aug 10 → 0.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Chop down trees, plant and grow crops, hunt wildlife, mine for ore, and fish from the surrounding seas and fjords. Manage your resources carefully to ensure you can outlast the harsh winters, and expand your settlement from season to season.
Each of your villagers is a unique character in their own right. With 20+ characteristics, your villagers might be powerfully built strong men and women or silver-tongued thespians. Pay attention to skills and abilities when assigning tasks to your people. Not all Vikings are alike, nor are they equally good at all jobs!
As your settlement grows, more Vikings will seek to join. You can choose to welcome them or turn them away. Over time, your Vikings will begin new families and give birth to new generations, extending their lineage and strengthening your settlement.
The land will bring many challenges to your settlement, from earthquakes to fire-starting lightning from Asgard. Unite your Vikings to withstand these disasters as best you can.
The seasons bring their own challenges, as do events and disasters. Be ready for storms, blizzards, or the long, deadly cold of the winter season. Prepare firewood and food stores to keep your Vikings warm and well-fed!
Your neighbors are an excellent resource for goods and gold. Once you build a Trade Dock, ships will visit you with various cargos. You can also send out your own trade missions, as long as you have enough villagers to crew the vessel - and enough beer to fuel the crew!
Any good Jarl will tell you that brute force is the best path to glory. Gather your Vikings and raid foreign villages to plunder their gold and silver, and gain Fame points. Train and strengthen your Vikings, and command them through the all-new battle system to ensure your victory, while defending your settlement from other villages!
As your settlement flourishes, Viking heroes will want to pledge their valor to your cause. These heroes will lead your troops into battle, inspiring confidence and providing other bonuses along the way.
No grids allowed! You can build wherever you want, designing your settlement as you see fit, and to increase your Vikings’ happiness. Construct monuments to Odin or Freya and customize the look of your Viking ships. You can even modify the look of houses with the Building Editor. This powerful in-game editor will allow you to build and personalize an unlimited number of buildings and decorations!
Unlock new buildings and bonuses by spending Fame points in the Tree of Life. Discover beer brewing and build a Tavern for your villagers to relax in. Invest in goat farming to gather wool and weave fabric for better clothes. As you create better quality living and resources, your Vikings will become healthier and happier, and your settlement will flourish!

Reviews
Like every other game these days the developers only think of PC players that sit a nose length from their monitors. UI is to small to read, especially if you have any vision issues, making it extremely difficult to play.
not great. pacing is actually one of the worst I ever saw in a settlement game. feels unfinished, unpolished, models dont look great, tech tree is dull and unnecessary, military buildings and functionality feels like an afterthought and some stuff are still bugged and seems like it wont get fixed. stay away, there are much, much better settlement builders on steam.

I enjoyed this game but I feel like the game missing something. At the start it was nice and all but towards end game it just became a little bit tedious and boring, there was nothing to do anymore and was underwhelming. I would say this game is probably in late beta stage in my opinion. The Good: - Settlements feel alive. Villagers have skills, needs, moods, relationships and jobs that actually matter. It doesn't really effect much on the gameplay but just a general feelings which is positive. - Tutorial is done properlly. - Great atmosphere. Season changes, weather and music are all great. - The building sim is pretty decent, was very enjoyable building and expanding the settlements. The Bad: - Not completed game, feels beta phase. - Pretty basic and similar to many other games, it's too chill/casual. - Some core mechanical issues, an easy example is death ( you rarely notice when it happens so monitoring workers is a thing ). - No configuration system. You cannot choose easy/hard mode or control disasters. Like the game is not bad it is just lacking that's all.
It is a little bare-boned, and lacks some depth in places, but I think on the balance this game is fine. As other reviews have stated, the atmosphere and attention to villiagers is nice. There are definately issues which are aluded to in other reviews, I don't think it outmatches the positives. All in all, lacks a little depth, but overall is fine. Not great, or even good, but its fine.
So I really tend to enjoy city builders, however this one is stilted with multiple bottlenecks. First off, the fame system makes it difficult to advance technology with the only sure-fire way to get more is to keep building your settlement larger and larger (constrained by map size). That wouldn't be an issue except for the fact that your food is throttled quite severely and trying to keep up with it and only having limited usable land and to have to manually generate meat by selecting slaughter makes it tedious. Additionally the thrall mechanic doesn't work, so instead you now have this extra populace that is useless, prone to rebellion and just consumes food. All in all, this game was a wate of my money and honestly I had higher hopes. Better off just getting a whole different city builder game.
This game is buggy hell. I played a few times and now I tried to do 100%. I was close. So close. Around 660 and day 11 game just broke. Villagers were just spawning at main building, idle and die of starvation. What is funny, villagers were bugging at healing hut and dying of starvation. Population dropped to around 400 and I've managed to regrow it again to around 660/670, and then game broke again. Villagers are constantly idling, bugging, and wandering without any purpose. Now the village is buggy mess. When before everythin was working smoothly, now I suddenly ran out of food, beer and raw resources, because villagers are just doing nothing.
Bought the game in october 2023 and the game is basically in the same state as it was at it was released. 10000 Bugs, no real content and the last update was in june 2025. Now they announced a new game called valorborn or something like that. Dont buy either Land of the Vikings or Valorborn guys
Pacing isn't great and the game still has a lot of bugs.
I really want to like this game, and maybe it's for someone - but it's not me. The controllers are odd - such as hold Z and move your mouse to rotate. The objectives are unclear. "Increase Security" I made so many warriors and a few archers, and i still keep failing. "Build houses" I have built several, but it still fails. There is no indicator to tell me what my current objectives are, not that I can find, and no clue to how many things I need to do to finish the objective. I want to like this game, it's a solid concept, but little things just keep getting me irritated.
