A murder. A hack. A bombing. All it takes to plunge the solar system into war – unless you do something about it. Help CDI agent Neil Conrad make a string of increasingly difficult decisions in this modern dialog-driven adventure set in a gorgeous 2D sci-fi noir universe.
Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.56/day in the week to Aug 4 → 1.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Another cigarette tumbles into the abyss.
The sun is slowly coming up, glistening in the sea of buildings below.
I look up at the stars one last time before they disappear.
They don't provide any guidance. They don't give a f*ck.
I have to make this decision on my own, and very soon.
Problem is, I don't know how. I've never been able to figure out why I do what I do. Not really.
No more time to think. I have to go.
You are Neil Conrad, CDI agent. Awoken by the news of a murder, you rush into a case that will soon turn your life and the whole solar system upside down. Ask questions, collect evidence, and put the pieces together until the ugly truth reveals itself... or not.
The story branches and ends based on your actions. There's no going back. Sure, you can rush your way to the end – if you don't mind paying the price. Play your cards right, and you might make it out alive.
Some questions don't have a right answer. Will you sell out a friend to protect your family? Will you endanger a loved one in exchange for public safety? Will you keep the peace or reveal the horrible, world-shattering truth?
While the classics were great in their time, Lacuna does away with the baggage of many adventure game tropes:
Pointing & clicking Platformer movement controls (WASD / controller)
Selecting all dialog options one by one anyway Non-repeating conversations and choices
Inventory management and counter-intuitive puzzles Immersive, story-driven mysteries
Pixel hunting Optional outlines on anything interactable
Story grinds to a halt at every puzzle can always be driven forward
"x will remember this" Real choices and multiple endings

Pokud máte rádi detektivky, prostředí "blízké" budoucnosti a vizuálně pixel-art, adventuru Lacunu určitě neváhejte zkusit.
Essentially, this game follows the story of new colonies of planets and the murder of some high official doing trade talks or something like that. In terms of actual gameplay, you essentially are just reading dialogue and occasionally looking for clues. Being observant of your surroundings is a must, as you can indeed miss things if you are not careful, which may later impact the results of your "sheets", or the mechanic used to communicate your findings. Personally, I felt it was incredibly slow to get through. A lot of the sheets just felt like doing homework to me. In fact, one of them literally was ahaha. You would read through dialogue, and then later on respond like a fill in the blank situation. Perhaps, had the story been more unique or had some better lines, I would have been a bit more enticed. However, it was just a slog to get through at times. Often I found myself rushing through the chats just to get to the next point of the game. Mind you, I am an enjoyer of these sorts of games. Its not like I have TikTok mushy brain and don't have the patience for slower narratives. I just could not get into it for the life of me. Everything just felt so vanilla, from the personal conflicts to the overarching plot. Nothing had that sort of impact one would likely crave in something narrative based, especially because I did not care for any of the bland as Hell characters.
The game essentially ends because you save your daughter. I did not do enough things correctly to get to the good-good ending where I solve the mystery but I found myself literally not caring because I did not feel any curiosity for that plot.
I will commend that it wasn't super easy. You certainly had to comb through logs a bit more than your average game, and I made that mistake. But aside from that, its a simple play. Not brain off material but also not really something that requires dedicated thought. More so just patience and rereading, which is something I personally did not have as I found it boring. The art and music were both phenomenal, however, and were saving graces to the lackluster gameplay and story. Had the game had more voice acting too, I think it would have been better, as the small amounts it did have were quite well done. In that regard it was enjoyable. Further, there was only one bug I encountered. An annoying one that plagued my time - would not let me travel up and down stairs and would make the character walk back and forth for a while until it decided it would understand my input - and kind of made it silly in important scenes where there was a lot of action. While I cannot say I recommend it, there are people the title will appeal to. If you like something that is short but still requires you to pay attention, I would recommend. However, I just did not like it nearly enough to say it would be a good play beyond that.

I got this game on sale for an insanely cheap price, and after finishing it I feel like I stole it. In short, I thought this was an incredible noir game. I have been routinely disappointed with releases in this genre (Backbone AKA Tails Noir, Shadows of Doubt come to mind) and this game reminded me that there is still hope out there for games looking to capture the essence of a noir story. That is not to belittle the effort put into those titles that I mentioned, but Lacuna -- while a short game -- is incredibly polished in design and play, and is supported by an equally good story. I would argue that while Lacuna has received criticism for having simple puzzles/cases, the difficulty comes in what decisions you make throughout the game based off of the resolution of those cases. Anyone who finds themselves getting immersed into the world will really feel the weight of the last act of this story. Was incredibly surprised by this game and I will certainly be looking to pick up future noir games by DigiTales if they ever make them!

Fun game! Interesting story, great atmosphere, music and art!
