A murder. A hack. A bombing. All it takes to plunge the solar system into war – unless you do something about it. Help CDI agent Neil Conrad make a string of increasingly difficult decisions in this modern dialog-driven adventure set in a gorgeous 2D sci-fi noir universe.
Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.56/day in the week to Aug 4 → 1.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Another cigarette tumbles into the abyss.
The sun is slowly coming up, glistening in the sea of buildings below.
I look up at the stars one last time before they disappear.
They don't provide any guidance. They don't give a f*ck.
I have to make this decision on my own, and very soon.
Problem is, I don't know how. I've never been able to figure out why I do what I do. Not really.
No more time to think. I have to go.
You are Neil Conrad, CDI agent. Awoken by the news of a murder, you rush into a case that will soon turn your life and the whole solar system upside down. Ask questions, collect evidence, and put the pieces together until the ugly truth reveals itself... or not.
The story branches and ends based on your actions. There's no going back. Sure, you can rush your way to the end – if you don't mind paying the price. Play your cards right, and you might make it out alive.
Some questions don't have a right answer. Will you sell out a friend to protect your family? Will you endanger a loved one in exchange for public safety? Will you keep the peace or reveal the horrible, world-shattering truth?
While the classics were great in their time, Lacuna does away with the baggage of many adventure game tropes:
Pointing & clicking Platformer movement controls (WASD / controller)
Selecting all dialog options one by one anyway Non-repeating conversations and choices
Inventory management and counter-intuitive puzzles Immersive, story-driven mysteries
Pixel hunting Optional outlines on anything interactable
Story grinds to a halt at every puzzle can always be driven forward
"x will remember this" Real choices and multiple endings

(Finished on Switch) Compelling sci-fi detective game with some interesting puzzles to solve based on gathering evidence and deduction. Will definitely be playing DigiTales Interactive's next game, Between Horizons, too.
A great game developed by DigiTales Interactive and published by Assemble Entertainment, both of which have published many great games in the text based genre. In Lacuna, you play as Neil Conrad, an agent of an intelligence agency operating within a convulsive interplanetary reality. In this game, economic, political, and human interests converge in a story where a single assassination leads to a chain of events that will make you face ethical dilemmas, where your integrity and the integrity of many people with be at risk. This game is a coherent critic to social problematics of our own reality. Personally, all the artistic setting is laudable: the music, the pixel art, the story, the gameplay, everything is really polished. Although this game isn't tagged as a visual novel, it is similar to that type of game.

A really remarkable narrative experience. I was in the mood for some noir sci-fi, had this recommended, and was very pleased. Solid writing (characters, dialogue, plotting), well-implemented mechanics, and gorgeous art and sound.
This game was recommended to me but i wasnt sure at first because i am not a big fan of pixel art and I was worried there would be too much reading. I first played close to an hour and that gave me a sense of wanting to know more. Then on the second day i played the remaining 5 hours lol. It was soooooooo good The soundtrack and especially the piano music is amazing. My only minor criticism is that some staircases were a little difficult to recognize in the pixel art, so I occasionally walked the wrong way. Apart from that, I had a great experience. If you are into detectives i would highly recommend this game. And i want to thank the developers!
Enjoyed it quite a bit. I appreciate the excellent visual and musical presentation. It's short, but in a good way. You basically trade away freedom of navigation between locations and world interactivity for narrative density and good pacing. Still has multiple endings depending on choices made during the playthrough. The writing is on point and the plot is engaging. The Puzzles could be a bit more frequent and more challenging, but especially if you rather want a pure story game than something in the direction of a point & click game, this might be a pro argument for you. After having a blast with Between Horizons (liked it a tad more due to better puzzles and an even more interesting setting imo), I think I'm becoming a fan of the devs.
