Underwhelming version of a European board game classic
Ravensburger's Das Verrückte Labyrinth (also known as The A-maze-ing Labyrinth in its earlier English-language printings, and simply Labyrinth these days) rightfully counts among the undisputed classics of European board game industry. Personally, I can't think of anyone this side of the Atlantic who's not played it at least once. While there have already been attempts to make a video game out of the mind-boggling board game classic (the currently out-of-print 2001 version stands out), Ravensburger's current crop of their games' digital versions wouldn't have been complete without a version of Labyrinth - and here's where the problems start. As is common with all current Ravensburger games, there's no online multiplayer (a dreadful faux pas in case of any digital board game). The question is, why would anyone bother with a local multiplayer digital board game, when one can get a proper board game out? Another strange decision is the choice of Labyrinth versions presented in the game. While it is incredibly nice to see the long out-of-print Das Labyrinth der Meister included, I find it a very questionable decision to include such variations as Labyrinth Germany, Labyrinth Japan, or Labyrinth Ocean (for crying out loud!), instead of including Labyrinth 3D or the ability to change to another version of the classic Labyrinth board other than the dumbed down 2021 design (that doesn't have the iconic troll or sorceress). Pros: * Inclusion of the out-of-print Das Labyrinth der Meister. Cons: * No online multiplayer; * Surprising choices of additional Labyrinth versions included; * No ability to change the design of the classic Labyrinth board to those of earlier editions. Recommendation: Better get your copy of Das Verrückte Labyrinth out and play solo.

I bought this game because I enjoy the board game. While I still prefer the board game, this is a fun mind game and I recommend to people who also like games such as Solitaire. I also only recommend buying this game on sale like I did because it's not worth the $15.
Text Review: Pros: -Beautiful digital adaptation of a board game (Perhaps not the MOST elaborate but more effort was put into it than some digital board games can claim. Doesn't just feel like a digitized 2d board even though it is that to an extent - clever, targeted 3d elements elevated it in spite of some limitations) -The music is good and varied because of the different variants (Mysterious, childlike, beautiful, Japan themed etc.) -Includes 6 Labyrinth variants which doesn't just add atmospheric and visual variety but some gameplay variety too (Mildly). Labyrinth Jr., original and master are almost like difficulty modes -Gameplay is fun and interesting and alerted me to a board game I never knew existed (If most of us lack the capasity for strategic thought to play it properly and some won't like the complexity and required focus) Maybes: -No story apart from alchemy fun facts and ideally Labyrinth Japan and Germany would have them too to explain what the landmark or feature in question is -No distractions... the variants extend the lifespan but not by much! It's just a board game! Video Review: https://youtu.be/njPZrnzeDkY Short Review: https://youtube.com/shorts/NyaTJ3yVT3I
Nice PC version. It includes 6 different variants, each with multiple optional rules. Great for solo or Multiplayer on the same computer, Also great for all ages due to simplicity of the game, though there's plenty of strategy to keep more experienced players interested.
