L.S.S II

It's a really nice alternative to CoD: Zombies if you and your buddies are looking to get a similar, simple experience on the cheap. It has 4 maps (one of which is returning from the original L.S.S), various perks (no perk limit W), and the barricade-survival gameplay that we've come to love. It's not too deep, but for its price, L.S.S II is a hidden little gem.

This is a classic wave-based shooter where you have to survive as long as possible in a small map against endless enemy waves. Your foes are radioactive zombies that start as sluggish slow-moving targets, and then progressively increase both their resistance and their speed, until they become a serious threat. This is not the most innovative game, for sure, but I think it is rather fun, until it becomes awfully repetitive, of course. But this is a common flaw of this type of games. I liked the possibility to upgrade your character with perks right on the battlefield (perks are not permanent, they last until you are killed), the good variety of weapons (the shotgun is one of the best I have ever tried), the size of each wave (zombie hordes are truly massive), and the level design of the maps (you can unlock new areas, set traps, set barricades, and take advantage of covers and shortcuts to trick your enemies). I didn't like the fact that waves are endless (I preferred a limit to something like 50 waves), the fact that grenades are totally useless (candies would be more dangerous), and the fact that some weapons are too OP compared to others (you are not stimulated to use all the available arsenal). I certainly recommend this game to all fans of fast and frantic shooters, but don't expect anything new, it's the usual stuff. Cheers guys!
