This game kept me like 2 weeks away from my family, i say id recommend.
5/23/2026: First off, if you like Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon, this is not that game. Well it is, just much much slower. I recommend this game for the grinder and explorer types. Its story is kind of dull, and the I haven't got a clue how to track quests or time yet. But overall, the graphics are good for the nostalgic types and the maps give that old school gameboy zelda feel.

I enjoyed Kynseed and even backed it. It stands out as a deeper, more unusual life sim with its generational system, quirky world, and huge amount of things to do. It’s not perfect, but it has a lot of personality and stayed memorable for me. I also love that updates are still coming to this day, which really shows the passion behind the game.
I wish I could choose "maybe". I was absolutely loving this game and the idea of getting stronger each generation was great, up until the point I finished it without passing on the Kynseed once. I bought items from the rabbit and aged about 15 years after the first year, by which time all of my children went from babies to young adults so I inadvertently skipped their childhood. I'm not sure if I missed being able to train them as I still could give them jobs/tasks to improve their skills but they were so old now and learn them so slowly it seemed like there was little point. All in all, the premise is great, but the pacing just doesn't work and means that you miss a fundamental part of the game. PS. the horror that I encountered in Mellowfields in Autumn will live with me forever!

Kynseed is a weird one for me. It starts incredibly slow, took me several hours to get to the actual good part and I almost gave up on it. Once I got past the childhood chapter, I finally got hooked. Roaming around, exploring the huge map and hoarding all the things is great fun. The infinite inventory space is so satisfying in that regard. The legacy system definitely is a very unique selling point of this game. The combat system is surprisingly fast paced and fun. I also greatly enjoyed the somewhat darker, macabre themes and spoopy vibes of some parts of the story / the world map. That being said, I wish there was more qol stuff present, because a lot of the things you are meant to keep doing get quite tedious after some time. This game is VERY grindy! After 50ish or so hours I am nowhere near done with my main quests, yet I am starting to feel burnt out. Overall I still think Kynseed is worth experiencing for the unique ideas it brings to the table. Just keep in mind that you will need patience. If you enjoy grinding and doing mundane things, I believe you will have a blast.

I can tell this is going to be an in depth investment of time type of game. It's whimsical, unique, and still has elements that are key to all cozy games. My character is still just a kid and hasn't unlocked everything yet, but holy cow, I can't wait.
