Koi-Koi Japan [Hanafuda playing cards]

Un capolavoro assoluto della tradizione giapponese: Koi-Koi (giocato con le splendide carte Hanafuda) è senza ombra di dubbio uno dei migliori giochi di carte al mondo dietro la delicatezza delle sue illustrazioni floreali si nasconde un gameplay magnetico, un perfetto equilibrio tra strategia, memoria e quel pizzico di azzardo che ti tiene costantemente sul filo del rasoio ogni partita è un'altalena di emozioni: tentare la fortuna chiamando "Koi-Koi" per moltiplicare i punti o accontentarsi e chiudere la manche prima che l'avversario ribalti la situazione? Una tensione fantastica. Un ringraziamento speciale va ad Ale per avermi fatto scoprire questa gemma: giocarlo insieme in multiplayer è stato divertentissimo! sfidarsi colpo su colpo, spiare le mosse dell'altro e contendersi le carte migliori rende l'esperienza ancora più viva e spassosa se amate i giochi di carte e cercate qualcosa di elegante, profondo e incredibilmente appagante, dovete provarlo assolutamente. 小猫钓鱼好好玩。多人模式根本没人！

This game was pretty much what I expected... a basic Hanafuda game. I would warn though that the menu is entirely unclear about which features were part of the basic game and which were premium content to be unlocked. I was sent to Steam Store a number of times while just looking to see what the different options of the game were. As an implementation of Hanafuda though, the game seemed pretty solid. However, I am only a casual player with only a simple understanding of the rules.

I'd only recommend this game if you are already familiar with Hanafuda cards, otherwise this game will be weird and confusing due to the visual similarities between sets.

✔️PROS [Atmosphere] NICE - Both engaging and relaxing [Audience] ALL - I don't recall seeing anything too adult [Audio] GOOD - Nice style albeit repetitive. I like Song 1 [Content] GOOD - Delivers what it promises. There's DLC for another game mode [Customization] FAIR - You can change the music, background, cardbacks, and npc [Difficulty] NICE - Easy to pick up, with layers of strategy to learn [Gameplay] GOOD - Cozy and satisfying. Luck of the draw keeps it interesting [Grind] ADDICTIVE - I look forward to getting all the achievements [Playtime] Up to you, definitely replayable. Completionists will have many hours [Purchases] OPTIONAL - There's a DLC but I'm new to hanafuda so I can't judge its worth [Story] GALLERY - I'm currently playing for postcards, I love the photos of Japan ❌CONS [Characters] OKAY - Some npcs look like fanart rather than official illustrations [Cost] OKAY - I don't know if I'd pay full price, but I got it on sale for $2 - way worth it! [Graphics] OKAY - It's 2D cellshading, some elements are good, others look cheap [Multiplayer] OPTIONAL - I haven't done multiplayer yet due to an empty lobby [Servers] BAD - I wanted to try multiplayer but the lobby was dead. I'll keep checking 📝CONCLUSION I have always wanted to learn hanafuda but felt intimidated. This game made it so beginner-friendly and enjoyable! I always end up playing longer than I plan to when I open this game, and look forward to playing more when I wrap up. I would say weigh the pros and cons if the game is full-price, but if you can get it on sale, it's a no-brainer! I snagged it for $2 but now that I've played it I would happily pay 5 or 6 for it. I am considering buying the DLC just to support the creators because I'm enjoying it so much. It inspired me to order a physical set of hanafuda cards to play with friends in-person!
