There is absolutely zero effort done to make this compatable with current windows 10 and new hardware. It launches but its not playable. Its total cr@p= laggy and cannot make it fit your screen as its cut off. I know how to do the basic first 100 work arounds (without downloading 3rd party stuff). FYI none of the things work. Using 1 processor instead of my 16 (nope) using basic compatability with all ALL since windows 95. using the many launch options like forcing it to the old 640x480 resolution screen optimizations administrator settings launching from the original exe file. Doing workarounds you see online.. Anyway its bull shT ok. Thats all im saying. If you are going to sell something on steam it would be nice if they were forced to make it compatable or AT LEAST GIVE US A DAMN GUIDE where we don't need to download from 3rd party stuff.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3776863304

One of the best games I've ever played, and it's probably the third copy I've bought. The only game I've played through every campaign multiple times. It's like Civilization, but in real-time. There's a strategic ebb and flow to this game I've never seen replicated in any other strategy game. Lines form, flanking becomes both difficult and game-changing. Supply lines matter. This game scratches an itch I haven't been able to scratch with any other strategy game. It's a shame no one has even tried to replicate this formula. The gaming community is seriously missing out as a result.
Unarecognized classic
• This is one of the best strategy games of all time, especially if you download more bots and maps, which I recommend you do. • If your friends can stomache old graphics, this is a fun game to play together. I used to play this with my dad and his friends back in the day. Fond memories. • This game is very unique.
One of my favorite RTS games of the early 2000's. Its unique troop and resource management system managed to remove the micro management letting you focus the strategy. This is what set it apart from other popular series like StarCraft, AoE, and CC. Troop management: Troop management is done at the army level not the unit level. Each army (of which you can have 20 max) is built of a front line (infantry, cavalry, or archer), 2 different support troops (clerics, mages, rangers etc.) that cast spells or add special buffs your troops, and a commander or hero (heroes act similar to support troops providing buffs/spells). They have 4 different formations trading speed and visibility for attack power. Unlike other games troops aren't disposable - if even one of your troops in an army makes it back to a population zone he can reconstitute the full army with 2 minutes of healing time. As armies and heroes fight they gain experience giving more attack or defensive power so keeping them alive is important. Resource Management: You don't need to units to collect resources as you do in StarCraft, AoE, or CC. Instead you build or capture towns. The 5 resources; gold, stone, iron, wood, and mana are generated from buildings in these towns which have a few building slots (1-7) based on the level of the town. Gold is a special resource which can be stockpiled and is used to buy troops and buildings in towns. The other resources are used as maintenance for your troops where each troop has a maintenance cost per second of stone, wood, iron, or mana. Gold is automatically consumed if a shortage exists for one of the other 4 resources. It makes for a bit easier resource management as you can supplement any shortage with gold... you can even run a gold deficit once but once you hit zero gold your troops heal slower and take damage over time if out of a supply zone. It makes for interesting resource management and the maintenance cost can have a huge impact when you lose a town providing the resources needed to maintain your existing armies. How it plays today: Single player its great although the graphics could use a refresh - Sadly the community is long gone so finding a multiplayer match up just isn't going to happen. Your best bet for multi-player is to find a friend and play LAN based games. Its decently fun cooperatively - 2 players vs 6 CPUs is a challenge. Hopefully another RTS company will come along and resurrect Kohan's unique management strategies giving us another great game and an active multiplayer community.
RTS masterpiece
This is one of the most underrated games of all time. It's a masterpiece that basically no one has heard of or played. I'm not sure when I started playing it but it was somewhere close to 2001. Adding native steam support for multiplayer is amazing for playing with friends on the go.
Ahhhhhh Kohan AG, the best of the franchise IMO. This is a squad based tactical strategy game with elements of resource management. I would guess I've put the most hours of any game into this. The first 1000 hours were on a demo that let you play only the river forts mission over and over. I was a kid and couldn't buy the game. I was so in love. You need to download some files to get the game to run correctly and not gitter when you scroll. They're easy to find in the forums. I think dgvoodoo also fixes it but I don't remember.
