Guide small kobolds through dangerous caves in a 2D puzzle game built around simulated materials. Dig, burn, freeze, melt and combine sand, water, lava, wood, vines, dynamite and more to create safe paths and solve each level.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. The player count below is how many people own it, not what they spent.
About
Kobold Delvers is a 2D puzzle game about guiding small kobolds through dangerous underground caves using a wide variety of simulated materials.
Dig, place, burn, freeze, melt and combine materials to create safe paths, solve environmental puzzles and help every kobold reach the exit.
Your goal is simple: get the kobolds to safety. They will walk through the level on their own, so you must prepare the cave before it is too late. Shape the terrain, redirect hazards and use the available materials carefully to keep them alive.
Each level gives you a limited budget of materials. Sand falls, water flows, wood burns, lava melts, vines grow, ice freezes, dynamite explodes and many other materials interact with each other in different ways.
Understanding how these materials behave is the key to solving each puzzle.
There is rarely only one way to solve a level. You can pause the simulation, inspect the cave, place materials and watch your plan unfold. If something goes wrong, restart and try a different approach.
2D puzzle gameplay based on simulated materials.
Hand-crafted levels with environmental challenges.
Reactive systems involving sand, water, fire, lava, ice, wood, vines, dynamite and more.
A sandbox mode for experimenting freely with materials.
Compact cave-based puzzles focused on logic, planning and experimentation.
Cute kobolds, dangerous caves and plenty of chaotic material interactions.
Kobold Delvers was developed as a final degree project, built in C++17 and OpenGL.

Fun and simple puzzles, and extremely polished for a free game! My only issue was that I often found myself wishing there was a 1-pixel wide brush, especially on the later levels where I had to repeatedly click to make weird holey bridges to stay under the resource limit.
1500 FPS, NECESITA MAS OPTIMIZACIÓN 10/10
(Ignore the time, I fell asleep while playing.) It's a very fun game where you just have to figure out what things do. There's no time limit so you will eventually get it. Also, I hecking love kobolds.

Great concept, but needs a little more time in the oven. Most levels start with the kobolds dying almost immediately, forcing me to pause at the start of every level. The budget is a little too strict, forcing me to manually place single dots to build paths. There are lots of different materials but the level design doesn't take full advantage of the mechanics. I wish there were more levels and levels that didn't have such trivial yet mechanically frustrating solutions.
I'm a big fan of physics puzzles, and these were pretty solid. It only took an hour to beat all 12 levels, but I couldn't figure out how to get more than two stars on the last two. The mechanics aren't explained, so you need to figure them out on your own. That's part of the charm of games like these, though.
goty of the year del año
A very fun little lemmings-like. nothing mind blowing, but it has some fun little interactions and physics. The kobolds sometimes get stuck inside things or in falling animations, but overall everything works as it should. Very nice for a student project, and something I would gladly pay a few bucks for with a few tweaks and/or more levels and/or the ability to easily import community levels (and a community actively making them)
Kobold Delvers is a small dungeon-crawling adventure game that focuses on exploration, combat, and collecting loot. You take control of kobold characters as they venture into dangerous areas, fight enemies, discover treasures, and try to survive deeper runs. It is a simple concept, but it has the charm of classic dungeon games. The biggest strength of Kobold Delvers is its atmosphere and theme. Using kobolds as the main characters gives the game a different feel from the usual fantasy adventures where you play as heroes, knights, or powerful warriors. The idea of small creatures exploring dangerous dungeons gives it a fun underdog feeling. The gameplay is easy to understand. You explore areas, battle enemies, collect items, and improve your characters. The progression system gives you a reason to keep playing, as finding better equipment and becoming stronger makes later challenges more manageable. The dungeon-crawling elements are enjoyable, especially for players who like slower games focused on exploration and preparation. Choosing when to fight, when to explore further, and how to manage your resources adds some strategy to the experience. However, the game is held back by its simplicity. The core mechanics work, but they do not always develop enough to stay interesting for long periods. More enemy variety, deeper character options, and more complex dungeon designs would have helped the game feel more complete. The combat can also become repetitive. While fighting enemies is satisfying at first, there are not always enough different situations to keep battles exciting. After a while, the gameplay loop of entering areas, fighting, and collecting loot can start to feel predictable. The presentation is a mixed point. The art style has charm and fits the kobold theme well, but the game does not have the same level of polish as larger dungeon-crawling RPGs. It feels like a small indie project with a good idea rather than a fully expanded adventure. Overall, Kobold Delvers is a charming little dungeon game with a unique theme and enjoyable progression. It has enough fun ideas to keep fans of the genre interested, but the limited depth and repetitive gameplay stop it from becoming a must-play. Rating: 6.5/10
