About
The indie freeware classic returns! It's been 20 years since visionary Swedish indie developer Nifflas (Rhythm Doggo, Ynglet) released Knytt, the first title in the atmospheric platforming series. Made with the help of a passionate group of internet forum collaborators, the game was released for free on the web in 2006, and later followed up by Knytt Stories (2007) and Knytt Underground (2012). IGN called Knytt "an extremely soothing and memorable ambient adventure", while Edge Magazine remarked it was "pure platforming pleasure and a wonderfully soothing soundscape."
To help celebrate the 20th anniversary, Bit Kid (Chasm, WOLFHOUND) is proud to present Knytt Classic, a free pixel-perfect port with full controller support, achievements, bonus modes, display effects, and much more!
Guide the Knytt, a peaceful being who is abducted by aliens for a cruise across the solar system and ends up crash-landing on another world. Explore the atmospheric, maze-like planet and collect all the parts from your crashed ship in order to return home. As Edge put it, "There’s no combat, no switches, and no real puzzles to speak of, just plentiful checkpoints, pure platforming pleasure and a wonderfully soothing soundscape."

Very relaxing to play.
Really beautiful game with perf platforming mechanics and sick level design. I love just wandering in a game with good platfeel and this hits the spot c: It does seem to be suffering from a benign visual scanline glitch on some screens, but it enhances the aesthetics more than anything.
I love this game. It's exactly the kind of game I've been looking for! Low stakes exploration, beautiful artwork, really nice soundtrack and ambience, such a fun little game. And it's free!

I found this game possibly on TIGsource somewhere in 2007(?), played it on a millenium-era desktop. It has stuck in my head over the years for its fantastic use of backgrounds, tiles and audio design to create an adventurous atmosphere, doing so better than quite a few games that have hundreds or even thousands of developers working on them. It's both long and short enough that you get a lot of exploration without wearing out its welcome or wasting your time. This updated version is a welcome sight (didn't think I'd see it again past 2007) adding controller support and some alternative aspect ratios. A 16:10 ratio would be welcome for those of us who play on Steam Deck too, but it's fine as it is.
Fantastic project preserving and sharing a classic of the 2000s Game Maker freeware scene. Highly recommend playing. Works great on Steamdeck.
Joguinho simples, mas muito divertido. A trilha sonora e os efeitos sonoros são perfeitos. Os cenários são bonitos também, apesar da pixel art meio antiga.
OK, now do Knytt Stories.
A Simple and Short Platformer. Don't expect anything amazing. It's a very simple game, but you can freely explore a fairly varied map in search of items, and the movement feels pretty good. * I haven't played the original.
