I got all three endings of the game, or at least the three I found. It was a quick but enjoyable experience to play; it's not exactly scary, but it's good, and if you're easily scared, you'll probably shudder a bit during the jumpscares. If English isn't your first language, or if you have a basic to intermediate level of English, like me, the dialogue and actions are short and easy to translate. I recommend the game 100% 🤍
Good game, short, very cohesive and well-fleshed out characters in a metaphorical way with a mini game and a personality test....jumpscares a lot and kind of scary especially if you're easily scared. I will never go in a room with a psychologist!! 10/10. Thank you for making it free because it's like 30 minutes but fun.
KnitBone is a really strange psychological horror visual novel, and I liked how quickly it made me suspicious of what was actually happening. I play as Eden Cross, someone struggling with chronic insomnia who is approached by an old acquaintance offering an experimental treatment. The idea sounds helpful at first, but it quickly becomes clear that this is something far more unsettling, and I enjoyed the gradual shift from ordinary discomfort into horror. The story is built around interactive therapy sessions where my dialogue choices influence what happens next. I liked that the game gives me the feeling that I am actively participating in the treatment rather than simply reading a fixed story. The choices are not just there for decoration either, because different decisions can lead me toward different outcomes. The minigames and personality test also help break up the dialogue. I enjoyed having these small interactive sections because they make the therapy feel like an actual process rather than a traditional visual novel conversation. The contrast between calm discussions and increasingly disturbing material works especially well, because it gives me just enough time to become comfortable before something starts feeling wrong again. The pixel art presentation is another strong point for me. The visuals are simple, but they fit the psychological horror atmosphere really well. I also liked the way the game mixes emotional discomfort with supernatural and cult themes rather than relying entirely on sudden scares. The result feels more personal and unsettling than a straightforward monster story. My biggest issue is the limited length. The experience is designed to be completed fairly quickly, so there is only so much time for the characters and mystery to develop. I also think some of the darker ideas could have been explored in greater depth. The story has enough interesting material that I finished wishing it had a little more room to breathe. The branching outcomes do help with replay value, though. Knowing that my choices can send the story in another direction makes me want to go back and experiment with different decisions. I also appreciated that the game clearly commits to its darker themes instead of softening them when things become uncomfortable. Overall, KnitBone is a memorable little psychological horror visual novel with a strong atmosphere and a genuinely creepy setup. I liked the therapy focused gameplay, the strange story and the way the choices make me feel involved in Eden's situation. It is short, but the combination of horror, mystery and emotional tension made a strong impression on me. Rating: 6.4/10
The characters and the story are interesting. And it's just my opinion but I really like the background drew with the pixels!
Cool. I didn't see as much Eden idealising Ryo as would have been ideal, but the story still works.
