One of the few games to come out in the last decade that truly respects & develops upon the lineage of WRPGs rather than simplifying, while still managing to be entirely unique through it's dedication to immersion & history.
Played the sequel first, came back to play the first one. Very enjoyable, I especially like that your character is essentially...nobody. No chosen one, no 'the special', just a guy. It was also a nice change to play an RPG that had a medieval story without magic, mysticism, elves or other fantasy elements. The landscape and world are gorgeous, though I did play with the HD texture pack. Good story. Combat is...annoying, and there is a lot of upkeep for your character. Both this game and the sequel can be very overwhelming to start. Especiallyl because they both keep in a tightly guided introduction for a fair while, then dump you into a vast open world. With a very questionable save mechanism...though I found I got used to it quickly. I will also say that although the game has aged well, there are a number of quality of life additions to the sequel that I wish had been included here. Automatically following roads or NPCs during quests, for example. I was also a bit dissappointed in one of the relationships that carries through to the second game,
Lord Hans Capon. It actually turned me off the sequel a bit, as him and the main character come off as a pair of obnoxious medieval frat bros. I wanted to see how that relationship developed, and although there was some story there, you barely see him through the whole game. But I guess the game is supposed to take place over only a few weeks, while it feels like much, much longer. Especially with the DLC.
Anyway. Recommended, but read up a bit a know what you're getting into. Some people hate some of the mechanics.
what is your favorite block in minecraft
Super strong storyline with diverse plots However, strong learning curve exp.. for the combat. If you have the time to play a long game, I finished it in 200 hours, including the DLC.. This game is fun to play with a few Nexus mods - (Highly recommended!)
No, I don't need another life with tons of responsibility. I don't need tons of janky mechanics for everything i want to do. I hate when immersion and realism is prioritised over fun.
