Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.75/day in the week to Aug 3 → 6.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Katanaut is a fast-paced, Metroidvania-inspired action roguelite set aboard a massive space station falling into cosmic chaos. With the station slowly spiraling out of control, and its once-human inhabitants twisted into terrors, you’re the unlucky one tasked with uncovering what is going on... assuming you’re able to survive the station's violent halls with souls-like combat.
As Naut, you explore the corridors of this once vibrant station... or what's left of it. The deeper you descend into the station, the environments become more haunting, and the enemies less human.
Through advanced time-manipulation, you’re brought back to life whenever your bio-metrics are no longer detected. In the future where humans are able to download new abilities on demand, the station is now scattered with memory fragments from the fallen. Each one having the potential of being a lost skill or talent waiting to be unlocked.
Every run offers a new pivoted challenge with ever-changing pathways to explore, and pits you against hordes of enemies. Each ride down the station's elevators carries forward progress from the memory fragments you scavenge along your exploration.
In Katanaut, each clash of your blade echoes through the station's empty and flickering corridors, where every corner feels like is a surprise watching you... Whether you thrive in precision combat or prefer dealing with enemies from a safe distance, this is one cleanup job you won't forget.

I have a habit of checking every single room before I leave a building, just in case I missed something. Half the time I walk out overloaded because I refuse to leave useful loot behind.

It's A Really Good Dead Cells where you're playing as a Katana Zero fanatic. It's a game with a lot of juice - kinesthetic details out the wazoo, all kinds of fantasy-katana action, it's even got a Dante Must Die mode in there. Rougelite sandbox is hard to judge - Blitzed through it on a lucky good build, but the build options being the same currency as the giant skill tree that looks item-world deep on each sword is a little eyebrow raising. I don't know if it has the loop and gameplay diversity to justify the absurdly ambitious time sink, but we'll see what a few more runs get me.
это реально годно!! спрятанный алмаз. это убойная смесь dead cells и katana zero или messenger. разрабу удачи в развитии этой игры, не останавливайся!
I had this game in my library since October but only picked it up a couple of days ago and ever since I did I can't stop playing!! It's so much fun, it has the charm of a roguelike where you get beat up and then slowly start learning and evolving. The more you play the more you unlock and the more natural the game becomes. There are cool mechanics, engaging npcs, and also just a generally nice community. One of my favorite aspects is that the starter hub has a leaderboard screen for the fastest completion times, highest enemy kills, etc this makes the game so much more engaging. The environment feels alive and it really nailed the cosmic horror aspect, along with some very fitting music! You would not expect the difficulty to hike up the way it does but it's genuinely so much fun. I don't feel myself rage whenever I lose, it's the opposite actually, I just instantly want to start a new run. The combat is diverse and it's fun to discover different combos or try out new weapons. Super super underrated gem, definitely give it a try!!
This game gets everything right. The combat is fast and clean, the katana feels amazing, and chaining kills through a packed room without touching the ground is a genuine rush. The parry and dodge timing click after a couple of runs, and from there, it’s pure flow state. The bosses are the highlight for me. Every one of them is a proper fight that you learn piece by piece, and beating them feels earned. The space station setting is dripping with atmosphere, with proper cosmic horror vibes, and the synthwave soundtrack ties it all together perfectly. The progression is generous, too. Every run unlocks something or teaches you something, so it never feels like wasted time. There’s also real depth after your first win. The game keeps giving you new stuff for way longer than I expected. It’s hard to believe one person made this. It’s the best hidden gem I’ve played this year.
A *fantastic* game. Very few games have controls this tight / responsive. The story is solid, gameplay loop fun, character moves like you think they should, unlocks are actively excellent. This is a top tier game and well worth the purchase. It controls like Dead Cells or 20xx (MegamanX) with tight controls to match. If you combine Hades + Dead Cells + MMX + Metroid Fusion you get this game Katanaut. Excellent job Lord/Lady Developers. I'll be enjoying this one for ages <3 I wish there were: 1. More weapon tree unlocks (all the trees are similar in their way) 2. Additional optimal options besides "syringes" (once you have your build they're all you need) 3. Minorly improved UI to show what the stat change will be from upgrades * There's just a lot of checking "is this worth it?" when it could be UI-displayed
Like a fast food Dead Cells, staring Warframe in Dead Space . It's much faster and more button mashy than Dead Cells, and as such isn't anywhere near as filling or satisfying, but is still a lot of fun and has the usual statisfying Roguelike homebase upgrades so each run doesn't feel wasted when you die. Does get a little samey, there isn't a huge variety in enemies, so more a game that I play in bites rather than deep sessions, but rapidly space-ninjering through hordes of definitely-not-necromorphs is highly cathartic and the varied powerups and reasonable stream of unlocks keeps that "one more run" going . Only proper niggle is the stamina bar. I mean, why ? This is rapid movement fast slasher game, not a Soulslike. Doesn't completely ruin it, just wish it wasn't there.
Game is good, gives me dead cell vibes without being a copy. Love the setting and the mystery of the time loops, not knowing when and where you are, whose dead, what's happened. Very impressive for so few developers. My only real complaints are sometimes it feels like controls aren't super responsive, even on controller. This may just be a case of me not knowing what states you can do certain actions in or not, but it feels like I've died a few times because my character was not healing even when I pressed the button to use my syringe. Or some abilites triggering but not doing anything. But those seem to be fixes that can dialed in given enough time. The only thing I REALLY want from this game is a stats screen that shows all your accumulated stats. How much DPS your katana is doing right now with all buffs considered. How much damage it does on crit. Cit chance on katana, crit chance on secondaries, DPS on secondaries with bonuses added. Included change with secret combos. How does secret combos bonus buff things that aren't damage, like the invincible on damage taken. Shows each modifier on your abilities and what those numbers are. Maybe its more of a 'purposefully' vague thing, but I would LOVE a more in depth stat screen.
