I've followed this game since its first demo release on Itch. The developers have done a fantastic job of listening to feedback and sticking to a cohesive design. This game is extremely chill but very, very satisfying. Casting your million fishing poles into the water and sucking up every fish you can see is a great feeling. The power curve on this incremental game feels very finely tuned at this point, too. I never felt like I was forced to grind just to scrape out a little more gameplay.
Very fun very addicting from what i played so far. Almost a hour in and I'm on island 5 out of 12 i believe. Game loop is super fun and upgrading your pole to get bigger fish is pure dopamine. 100% recommend it.

I was gifted this game from a friend due to my love of all fishing minigames. This one is lovely! The music is gorgeous, the ragdoll physics are ridiculous (positive) and it never feels like you're 'stuck' like some incremental games have issues with. While the game is short, if you enjoy 'numbers go up' and fishing, for the price it's offered at I recommend giving this one a go!
Clunky controls and chaotic design ruin a decent premise. 🎣📉
👍 The Good Let’s start with the positives: the game respects your time. It is a short experience with straightforward achievements 🏆, avoiding the excessive, artificial grind that many games use to pad out their runtime. Also, you can get a pet turtle 🐢. It is a completely shallow feature with no mechanical depth, but it is a nice visual touch. 👎 The Bad Unfortunately, the core mechanics fall flat in several key areas:

Unnecessary Controls: 🎮 A jump button has no place in this type of game. Forcing the player to manually jump over gaps makes the controls feel clunky and acts as a constant hindrance. Ramps or slopes would have provided enough terrain diversity. For actual gaps, simple edge bumpers that automatically jump the character over would have streamlined navigation immensely.
A Broken Power-up Loop: ⚡ The power-ups start off well, requiring you to plan when to use them, which initially adds depth to the gameplay. However, this falls apart very quickly. Once drones start dropping random, color-coded power-ups, it becomes impossible to track what each color does. Unlocking the "automatically open boxes" upgrade breaks the system completely—tactical planning vanishes, replaced by a chaotic, mindless rush to run over boxes and fish as fast as possible. 🐟💨
Frustrating Economy: 💰 Currency scatters everywhere, which is tedious to collect. Instead of padding the skill tree with boring upgrades like "drone speed," the game desperately needs standard quality-of-life features, like a currency magnet. 🧲
Opaque Skill Tree: 🌳 Skills lack tooltips or basic explanations, leaving you to guess their utility based on the name alone. For example, there is a "weight reduction chance" skill ⚖️, but the game gives zero indication of how lighter fish actually impact your gameplay or progression.
🛑 Conclusion Overall, Just Keep Fishing suffers from poorly designed mechanics. Between the clunky movement, an unexplained skill tree, and a gameplay loop that devolves from strategic planning into chaotic, mindless grinding, it misses the mark. ❌
Its a ok game, used 118 minutes to complete it with all achievements. after 60 minutes it got a bit boring and i completed it just because of the achievements.
100% achievements in 2 hours Way too short for a $7 incremental game Progression is off Skill node balance is terrible and linear Unfun and annoying maps
Not worth the £7, very low effort incremental. Becomes a slog pretty quick.
Really fun game. Plus you get to pet a turtle and fish in lava. Originally I had a glitch with steam deck and I filled a bug on the discord and Thomas had the game working within like 10 minutes. I couldn't believe how fast it got fixed. And I've been fishing ever since. I love this action incremental style games. PS: Beat the game later that night. I literally couldn't stop fishing haha. What a cool game and the mini games were a nice touch
sad game... not that great.... no new skills or anything..
