There are really 3 reasons why you would buy this game as a non-japanese guy. -You feel nostalgic towards memes of a culture you never experienced directly but heard about years after -You saw the word "Touhou" attached to a project by a big name in the scene and decided to eat it up -You like Flandre Scarlet maybe a little too much This game has A LOT of style. The graphics are beautiful, animations great, soundtrack is banging. The character designs are great and doesnt seem like anything was botched by the translation. All in all, great stuff. There is not much in terms of substance though. (Im 2 hours in as i feel obligated to mention). Its a VS clone, and if you're here youve probably clocked at least a 100 hours into that or similiar games. This wont give you a headache, not even a tingle. There just isnt really much to explore/unlock/check out in this game. Weapons evolve on their own without combinations, there isnt really any secrets or gamechanging things to unlock, max level (!!!) is 30, meaning you can unknowingly lock yourself out of weapon evolutions (hopefully its not a thing in endless mode but ive yet to unlock it). Ive played a diffrent VS Touhou fangame that at least tried to experiment with the formula, but didnt get any traction and got buried. This one just doesnt really do anything special. This game is also not really Touhou. Its a VS reskin. There is no grazing, no dodging of any kind really. Your bullets can destroy enemy ones(and by that i mean Boss' bullets, no other enemy shoots bullets of any kind), so there is no need to dodge anything in the game. You can just stand there and do damage. As for my other minor issues: -The included references have some really glaring ommissions [spoiler]⭐ [/spoiler] -Game has slowdown in the very late portion of the run. I hope its a design choice because that would be at least stupid, not incompetent. I still recommend the game. As ive stated at the very top, there are three reasons to buy this and im one of them. Its still a very fun and charming game, just wish there was a bit more to it :) Also, wait for a price drop. And i do mean more than the 15% on release. If its 25% then its worth the money.

You can probably tell exactly what kind of game this is. It just feels like eating a big bag of chips. I enjoyed it! I still hope they update this at some point because it is honestly VERY repetitive on all fronts.
