HoloCure - Save the Fans!

It's absolutely insane that this is free. It's lots of fun. I'm not into the VTuber part, but the designs are great, there's quite a few 2000-2010s anime/internet references and a bunch of side content, the character kits are really fun to figure out and build around. It has 99% positive reviews for a reason.

If I can't send anyone money, as thanks... I guess a positive review will do..? Nothing groundbreaking here, but if you like Hololive, think you know references, you'll get something out of this game... Or, maybe if just want some mindless gameplay to have a chat over, this is a nice game to do so! There's also gambling, a fishing rhythm game, that i suck at, jump king, and random rocks and trees to mine... I've been told I spent too much time there, whoops... Thanks, dev!

Runs on my computer, which was already weak in 2016. Free of charge (legally!) to play. One of the few thriving passion projects out there. So the developer cares at least minimally. Holocure is easily Top 4 for one of the most enjoyable bullet-heaven roguelites out there, with a decent amount of gameplay variety, interesting combat choices, out-of-combat activities (including cooking for buffs). Any character can be unlocked at any time, and as of this review there's over 40 of them, all with different possible tactics and builds. As of this review's writing, it's still receiving ongoing updates and chiptune soundtrack based on Cover Corps.'s V-Tubing division, Hololive, making use of each streamer's personality and in-jokes to build decently diverse kits and items. Controls are good (and bound to get better by v0.8), balancing is serviceable (making the "bullet-heaven" part of the deal important), and for once we get a colorful, lively roguelite, with a wealth of silly anime girls, if that's your stuff. Also, there's a [b]fishing[/b] rhythm minigame. [i]And[/i] slots.

Even if you aren't into VTubers or Hololive, you will still find enjoyment in its gameplay.

a very good roguelike despite being free, the hololive references are pretty fun to look at too despite not being into hololive myself. The gameplay is way too good, i kinda wish that i could support the developer more for this game development.
