About

Inside the Backrooms is a Co-op online horror game up to 4 players, where you and your friends will fight to escape from the different levels of the backrooms, solving different puzzles with different mechanics in each one.
This game is based on the famous creepypasta with many real references implemented such as iconic entities and important elements. You will have to explore each room, look for elements that help you to continue advancing throughout the game and unlock new areas, but the further you go, more dangerous it will be, you must pay close attention in the area, identify each entity and know how to avoid them if you want to survive.
Look for supplies, store them in your inventory, explore all the rooms, solve puzzles, unlock areas of the map, interact, try to collect everything you find.
The main objective of Inside the Backrooms is to engage players with its gameplay, difficulty and atmosphere. There are countless identical rooms with an old, dirty carpet and pale yellowish walls, where at first glance it gives you a gloomy and bad feeling where you realize that it is not a safe place.
The game currently has 5 levels, each level is huge and is designed to be more difficult than the previous one and each one with different puzzles and mechanics.
There are also 2 secret mini levels that will lead you to a secret ending..
In this game you will find several entities, currently 6 entities, all based on the original creepypasta, each entity will have different ways of attacking and manifesting, so it will be important to know it's behavior of each of these and avoid at all costs that several entities finds you at the same time, if this happens, you will have a bad time.
Inside the Backrooms has a lot of diverse, interesting and entertaining puzzles, from simple ones to the complex and laborious, they are carefully elaborated with the purpouse of being solved both individually and cooperatively, in addition to this, to make the puzzles more dynamic and attractive, in each new game the solution of all of them changes, which means that it wont be always the same answer! so test your puzzle resolution skills and try to escape from this terrifying place full of mysteries.
If you want to survive in the backrooms you will need to look for essential items and manage them properly, because if you get short of any of them, it could mean your death.

Worst backrooms games i have ever played, the game is so buggy. Invisiable entities, phasing through the map and not respawning. I think a roblox backrooms games would be better
Inside the Backrooms – Puzzle, Creepy, Chaotic, and Full of Great Ideas
My Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3.2/5)

First Impression / Background
After 100% completing Backrooms: Escape Together and nearly finishing every achievement in Escape the Backrooms, my friend and I wanted to try another Backrooms experience. Naturally, Inside the Backrooms was next. We played through the entire game together, unlocked every achievement, and experienced everything currently available. Even after playing several Backrooms games, this one still managed to create some unique horror moments that surprised me.

Gameplay / Puzzles / Co-op
Inside the Backrooms focuses much more on puzzles and teamwork compared to many other Backrooms games. The gameplay loop is simple: explore different environments, solve puzzles, collect items, avoid entities, and find your way forward. The biggest strength is definitely the co-op experience. Many puzzles require communication, remembering multiple steps, or splitting tasks between players. However, the game sometimes does a poor job explaining what you are actually supposed to do. There is no real story at the moment, although I am not sure if the game really needs one. Some puzzles can feel like random trial and error at first, but once you understand the mechanics, the game becomes much easier. The achievement system was also surprisingly enjoyable. As someone who likes completing games fully, I appreciated that the achievements were challenging but still realistic.

Atmosphere / Horror
The biggest strength of Inside the Backrooms is the atmosphere. The game focuses less on constant jumpscares and more on uncertainty. The empty environments, strange sounds, and feeling that something could appear at any moment create a strong horror experience. The ambient audio is one of the best parts of the game. Some sounds and melodies are genuinely memorable and fit the Backrooms feeling perfectly. Level Fun is a good example. The Daisy song works extremely well with the strange and chaotic atmosphere. However, I still think Escape the Backrooms handled the level slightly better, especially because of the music.

Best Level – Train Station / Level 80
Without a doubt, my favorite level. The reason is simple: The Lurker. This entity works so well because the game barely explains anything about it. You hear strange sounds, you know something is nearby, but you never know when it will appear. That uncertainty creates the horror. The connection between the Poolrooms and Train Station was also a great detail. The whole route was easily my favorite part of the game.

Entities / Difficulty
The Lurker is definitely the strongest entity in the game, but the Smilers were also memorable. Unfortunately, not every entity is equally good. Some AI behavior feels inconsistent, with enemies sometimes walking through doors or becoming predictable after repeated encounters. The difficulty is also mixed. Some sections are genuinely challenging because of the puzzles and teamwork required, while other moments feel frustrating because of unclear objectives or inconsistent mechanics.

Graphics / Problems
You can definitely tell that Inside the Backrooms is an older Backrooms game. Compared to newer games like Escape the Backrooms or Backrooms: Escape Together, the visuals are more outdated and sometimes look a little rough. However, the VHS effect from the Hazard Suit is a great addition and fits the classic Backrooms style really well. The game also has some bugs. Luckily, nothing completely ruined our experience. Some bugs were even funny and almost fitting because of how strange the Backrooms concept already is.

Conclusion / Personal Take
Inside the Backrooms is a solid co-op horror experience with a strong focus on puzzles, atmosphere, and teamwork. It is not the most polished Backrooms game anymore, and the AI, bugs, and unclear puzzles hold it back. But it still creates some genuinely memorable moments, especially with levels like Train Station and entities like The Lurker. After completing everything currently available with my friend, I can say that we had a great time and will definitely return when new updates release. For Backrooms fans, horror fans, and players who enjoy co-op puzzle games, Inside the Backrooms is definitely worth trying. Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3.2/5) A creepy horror puzzele and creative Backrooms experience with great atmosphere and memorable moments, but held back by technical issues and a lack of polish (like story, graphics and more) . Also the game is fun to speedrun!

all by all it was fun but some puzzles were a bit too ''hard'' for a lack of better word, could maybe make the notes more visible as we accidentally skipped them often and were lost what to do. also still some bugs, for example i was stuck falling off a bridge and not even leaving and rejoining lobby fixed it. Still had a fun time, not my favourite backrooms game but was fun playing it. Wish there were more levels too! played as multiplayer with my brother on normal difficulty.
its good
If you want a game that is not scary and just ragebaits you this is it!
