You know when your favourite local burger joint started using AI for their menus? that is exactly this game. This is the most fun game I have played this year by far. The gameplay is incredibly engaging and makes you want to play just one more turn until you've lost track of time. it scratches the itch that Marvel's Midnight Suns has caused and I genuinely was nonstop thinking about the combinations available. Unfortunately, the game definitely uses generative AI to generate the art. I personally cannot support this anti-art decision and cannot recommend it to other people. The AI art that I have seen in just the 90ish mins i've played is everywhere outside of the actual gameplay. The most heartbreaking thing is that the AI is for still images. You guys couldn't pay an artist for some pngs? I am returning this game and I hope that they make some drastic changes to the art so I can consider supporting.
Bought it to play the new tabletop game hexadome legends as a video game but its not really the same ruleset. Also the AI slop voice are really grating, just dont do any voiceovers if you are gonna use AI

It is painfully obvious this was not ready for release. 1. The campaign is rudimentary. No voice acting to speak of, 2D designs created with AI filters from the 3D models and extremely banal, rudimentary plot. And mind you, the Human Sphere (the Infinity universe) is extremely well-developed, with deep lore and intricate plots that already heavily involve Aristeia, such as the Aftermath graphic novel or the true death of the first Eclypse. So devs had material to work with. 2. Rudimentary cut scenes, mostly consisting of overviews of the arena, flying cameras and fireworks. 3. Skins are almost entirely recolors and retextures of the original. Corvus Belli, for the physical game, has developed very intricate alternative designs, which could have been used for inspiration or at least an example how a skin has to look. 4. Artificial barrier to jumping into the game in the form of having to unlock individual aristos (okay for a free game, not a game with this cost). This forces you to play vs AI or the campaign before going into pvp, which is the main focus of the game. So yes, the core gameplay is good, relatively quick boardgame. Characters are cool and most are amusingly presented and animated. System is easy to understand, probably too easy, given that dice rolls have been removed in favour of deterministic outcomes. Everything else needs a ton of polish and releasing in this state was a very bad idea.
This game is ass. It forces you to play a bs story to unlock all the characters and then 2 tutorial missions in they give the enemy team 2 extra enemies. 6v4 in the tutorial is horrifically bad game design. Losing because the enemy team literally has 4 more actions per turn wit meaning extra cards drawn and extra bodies in the cap zone is crazy. This let's the enemy team do it's ult on the second turn with zero downside. ♥♥♥♥ is crazy. It is too close to my two hours to experience any more of the game. I was really looking forward to playing this online in pvp but they force you to play unfun garbage first.
I would wait until this game is sorted out. I got it on day 1 and a decent amount of content was locked behind DLC that just didnt exist. The following day they released a bundle that included some but not all of the missing DLC for less than you purchased them individually meaning that people who already bought the game got screwed. I refunded. I might revisit the game once its all sorted out but unless you don't mind paying more for DLC I would wait too.
The game isn't bad. I know i'm leaving a negative review, but the game and how it plays isn't why. It's because its another competitive table top games that has fallen for the same pitfalls moonbreaker did in a number of ways. Sadly the game is heavily PvP focused, not to say you can't play single player but if you do you have to be able to look past AI opponents who make very questionable decisions quite often, But going back to it being PvP focused that means it needs players online to work. And on day one i think the highest player count i saw was 135. at this time theres less than 80 people. I unfortunately think launching on the same day as wardogs hurt the game even being noticed by anyone. I know a few people who were waiting for a long time as i was myself for this game to come out and had no idea it came out today because they were focused on wardogs. So thats probably got a bit to do with low player counts. But in a multiplayer game like this you need quite a few people online at once who are searching for games, or else you'll sit in qeues for long periods finding no games which is just going to drive the player base down even more. For example, i only got to play a single multiplayer game today and that was after waiting over 20 minutes. There is also the fact the game is pay to play. Which is the model i preffer for most games but i do think free to play games have their place and Just like with moonbreaker, this one really should have been a free to play model game. I'm not sure why digital tale top game devs always go for paying a set price for these games it just doesnt work for this genre ever. I asked steam for a refund myself for this one because otherwise this is just another dead on arrival pvp game i had to pay for sitting in my steam library never getting use. If the AI wasnt so bad in single player i honestly probably would have kept it. I just cant recommend the game to anyone right now for single player because the AI is just pretty bad, and i cant recommend it for people who are interested in pvp, because thats virtually non existent at the moment. Supposing over time it gains any traction and the pvp player base goes up i might re buy it. but ive seen what usually happens with this genre in the digital space before and currently just unfortunately can't buy into it myself or recommend anyone else buy into it at the current moment.
A good game with interesting game mechanics, where you need to not just play, but also think over tactics for winner !!!
An awkward 'video gamed' up version of Aristeia! with none of the charm in the rules, AI voices and Gata weirdly white washed in her key art. Hard to recommend unless your goal is just to encourage more Infinity universe games to exist.
Yo! Honest review. I played the Demo, and wasn't feeling it, very clunky. I am a huge infinity fan and want this game to be great. Bought the release, I'm in love! Its absolutely wonderful. Look there are things that could be better for quality of life. But the game is extremely addicting and tactical. As an infinity nerd I love the lore they put in. Everything is very accessible and intuitive no problem with the game play. Very tactically rich and exciting matches. I'm playing a bunch of ranked online, but the campaign actually took me by surprise in how much thought went into it. Each match is like a puzzle that they do a great job of taking you through multiple characters and strategies making you use all the tools at your disposal to progress. They do a great job of showing you the depth of the game while making it fun and not hand holding. Criticism is the dialogue in the campaign is like a comic book you don't get to see moving animations or voice acting but I'm ok with that, the games 20 bucks. As a person that usually skips dialogue I still have enjoyed reading every line and love the lore exerts where they give back drop to some of the terms they use to first time audience of the IP. Matchmaking it would be nice if you could add friends and be able to just invite friends to duels instead of having to share a code they join your match with. I refute all the negative reviews, I am hyper critical and I love this game. I will play it to death and really hope people give it love and attention. I hope it brings more people to Infinity and is a success for Corvus Belli. This is a table top experience and works your brain in a delightful way. Don't sleep on it, its great.
