About
“The Mad Virus” has spread throughout the world with the speed of jet planes. The infected are highly aggressive, fast and strong. In a couple of weeks, society collapsed. Cities are empty. There is no electricity, no water, and no food. Yet, there are a few survivors...
Type in the name of the city or town, download the map and start playing! Thanks to OpenStreetMap’s real-world data, you can choose any place in the world for your survivors.
Establish a new “Infection Free Zone” wherever you choose. Set up shelters and production facilities. Adapt existing buildings to new needs. Build new farms and power houses. Establish defenses with walls, gates, and towers.
Utilize your knowledge of the city. What is the best place to defend? Where were the grocery stores, where were the pharmacies? Where would you look for weapons? Remember that it’s dangerous to search the old buildings, there might be some infected lurking in the dark!
Each night, your settlement might be attacked by large hordes of the infected. Fight them off with every tool available - melee and ranged weapons, vehicles, walls and light. Research a vaccine or a cure for ultimate victory, or just enjoy rebuilding entire cities!
Your survivors will surely find other surviving groups. Some will be friendly and willing to trade, but others will be extremely hostile. There might be some fighting involved!

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

It's a ton of fun having to survive and build a colony in your neighborhood which you can select from the real world map and is very accurate compared to real life. Shops IRL show up as shops in game, pharmacies show as pharmacies and so on. The progress has a good pace which you can feel you influence to a great extent by your decisions. You often encounter various little stories or "quests", which have nice voice acting and contribute to the experience. I like that the game doesn't hold your hand, you are given objectives whose order isn't the same among playthroughs and you slowly go day by day, improving your colony. I'm enjoying the game despite some of its shortcomings, which are in my experience, mainly bugs and lack of QoL. I'd expect the amount of bugs to be severely reduced after this game being over 2 years out in EA, especially in pathing of your military units (squads) or infected randomly popping through your walls because for some reason the game doesn't consider the walls snapped together "well enough". I'm missing some QoL such as being able to assign units (squads) to hotkeys, being able to navigate them (let's say by double tapping that hotkey), being able to quickly hop to your base with a single button if you are zoomed out (currently it's a two step process) and so on. It's an RTS to an extent, so I'd expect some modern RTS QoL/features to be introduced. I'm missing some features such as being able to park your cars in the mechanics shop, being able to upgrade buildings (shelter to a house, wooden tower to a metal tower) and especially swapping gear between squads is currently very tedious. Overall I think the devs nailed a lot of things.
Gioco stupendo!

It has a decent story but what makes this game is that you can actually play in your home location literally where you can fight from your own home which separates it from any other game of its kind and from what i see its the only game that does....a game that can have a feature no other has is RARE thing in todays games
I use this game to play at my hometown and prepare for the upcoming apocalypse
