[spoiler]mirabelle's concerns about romance, odile's thoughts about her home and the childhood she missed out on, bonnie's fears and confusion about being cared for, isa's need to change and his lovely view of his old self.[/spoiler] i understood what they all meant and it was both a punch in the face and a warm hug. so many of these dialogues felt like real conversations ive had, and should have. siffrin is so tragic and so very special to me, i relate to his wish. i understand his loneliness, i understand his issues with his memory, i get it. [b]me too. me too. me too[/b] i heard about this from a silly post that related it to some other game's view on the universe and its a 10/10, definitely added to the list of things i wish i could replay blind because of how good the experience was. this game surpassed my expectations in every way, the gameplay loop (hah) is very fun and forgiving, the subtle changes on the dialogues, items and portraits are so so good and smart. the depiction of what someone stuck in a timeloop is feeling and thinking was really really interesting. i loved every part of this. i hope the universe keeps being kind, even if it doesnt feel like it sometimes protect queer art forever!!!! keep making beautiful beautiful things!!!!

I have this game on my switch and not on steam, but I am compelled to leave a review regardless. I bought and played In Stars and Time sometime late February early March 2025, on suggestion of a streamer, and my life was genuinely changed. In Stars and Time is, to this day, my favorite video game I've ever played. I recommend it to every one of my friends, of which many have purchased it (though not played yet, in some instances). This is an incredibly and emotional game that is absolutely worth trying out. The characters are all delightful and fresh oh so charming in ways that make it really hard to pick a favorite (though most friends would tell you mine is Siffrin, given that my discord name has been 'Siffrins biggest fan' since i first played it), and the use of repeating rpg mechanics helps to make the player feel just as trapped in the loops as Siffrin is. There are a lot of games I enjoy that could be described as a torment nexus, but this is my favorite one. I haven't been able to play a second time, because the thought of putting them through it again makes me too sad! More than recommended.

Up there with the rest of my favorite indie games. This game is also EXTREMELY woke. FInally.
I am not going to tell you that In Stars And Time is a perfect game. There are several things about it that don't quite sit right with me (There are a scant few plot beats that stick out in a bad way, the gameplay gets a bit tedious near the end as your options become much more linear and combat ceases to be a challenge, the story does not demand but is enhanced by Start Again Start Again Start Again: A Prologue, which is mildly hard to justify the price for its runtime). However, what I WILL tell you is that it's an absolute masterclass in narrative design, a story which delivers absolute gut punches with almost every revelation from nearly the word go and simply does not stop. A story which has stuck to me, as I'm left spinning in its wake, in a way that nearly no other has-even ones that have gone on to become absolutely vital to my life. Play In Stars And Time. Love Siffrin. Get scared and be joyous and find the good in sincerely one of the worst situations I can ever imagine. Hang out with a character diegetically named Tutorial Kid. Get tricked when you realize you're not playing Undertale. Let go of a home to which you can never return. Play In Stars And Time.
listen i think it's been like a decade or more since i gave a game a review on steam but i haven't felt this way about a game maybe ever, and haven't cried like this since hypnospace outlaw this night be the biggest must play ever for me! play it!!!
This game is all I want out of a time loop narrative. Every character is loveable and the story and ending tears you apart emotionally in a cathartic good way. Please search up nothing about this game and play it blind
