abandoned in favor of the Meta Quest version
It's unfortunate that this is not updated, the Quest version is WAY better. having been updated much more, with more levels, a wave defense mode, and new amulets. the game is good, but I can't recommend buying it on steam, if you have a quest then buy it on there instead.
Game is not longer supported on Steam! Don't waste your money here! Buy the standalone version for your VR Headset!!! Which has a lot more content. The version on Steam is horrible outdated.

Was great for its time, however the steam version has been abandoned in favour of the Quest. Worth $10 on sale, but tough to recommend at full price.
In 2025, this outdated VR archery shooter from 2018 is just too buggy to recommend. The main issue I have with the game is that it loads every single time with no sound. This used to happen every so often a few years ago, but now for some reason I cannot get the game to start in Windows 11 with sound. The graphics are also outdated and the gameplay is sort of roguelike where you make runs in procedurally generated maps that all look and play the same. There is also no way to save the game nor any difficulty setting and you must start all over when killed. I also constantly encountered instances where the game would flash a black screen concerning a network error and then restart in offline mode. The developer has also abandoned the Steam version of this game, so there will be no patches to fix all the bugs. I would stay away from this one.
The game is abandoned and has issues. It may have been great in its time, but not any more. First, I couldn't play the game without putting in special command-line parameters or the game would crash. Second, I was unable to complete the tutorial due to the bow not working properly with my Quest 3s. I would also have issues where I couldn't move forward (blocked by invisible walls). Just too buggy. Not worth it.
Important notice up front - This game is no longer supported or updated by the devs, and can require some initial fiddling to get it working properly (Google "In Death Environment Variables" to find the fix for Intel processors on the Steam community). The developer is well and truly done with the game, out of business, and will not be returning to it. There is an expanded Meta Quest version of the game by another Dev, In Death Unchained, which unfortunately exclusive to Quest headsets as of March 2023, and with the limited graphics and reduced tracking fidelity that headset allows for. That said, In Death is still one of my favorite experiences in VR, even after years since the last update. I have 60+ hours in at this point, and 81 achievements. The strategy finally make sense for me. The archery, the atmosphere, the dept of the combat, the startle and the stress of enemies you missed showing up from your blind side...I just love it. I think, given that the game is a dead end and won't be expanded or updated, you should only purchase it when it goes on sale. But if you accept that limitation, and want to faceshoot knights and archers, hone your archery skills, and get better and faster and trickier with your movement and your skills, this is a solid, fast-paced VR game with lots of replay-ability.
6 years later, I still really enjoy playing this game. Though in order to play you may have to put a launch option otherwise the game will not start. Right click on the game click properties, In launch options put this: cmd /c "set OPENSSL_ia32cap=:~0x20000000 && %command%"
DO NOT BUY THIS GAME, IT WILL NOT SAVE YOUR POGRESS SOMETIMES, IT'S DEVELOPMENT IS ABANDONDED. Most Christian VR game It an older VR title, but it holds up for the most part. It does not have campaign, but it has very satisfying and intuitive gameplay loop. I am not a big fan of bow gimmick in VR, but here it fits thematically and is very well implemented. The game does give you an option to unlock a crossbow for more casual experience, which is my preferred weapon. There is no locomotion, which is fine, it makes for more tactical gameplay. Even though it's a rouglite, don't expect any crazy combos like in Risk of Rain, it's mostly just unlocking gear and minor buffs, but the gear is powerful, like for example one explosive arrow can clear out a horde. The visuals are nice, the levels look diverse, there are lots of enemies to slay. Overall this game has a lot to offer, I am pleasantly surprised. 8/10
Another great PCVR game left broken and abandoned. Save us Steam Frame!
