i'm really scared but the big ghost woman is kinda bad tho...

a game yearning to be closed, a world yearning to die. i don't know what's on my computer, but i think it's alive.

a close friend of mine wanted me to play this game; i hadn't touched or thought about it in years, but the revisit years later is quite pleasant. im not sure why imscared never rose to fame like other indie horror in its era, but regardless, the game is worth revisiting. i look forward to seeing what this developer makes next.

I've never been a fan of horror/psychological horror games. In fact, been put off by most. Until now. I'm so deeply saddened I'll never get to experience this raw and unfiltered again. This was an amazing game that didn't use cheap scare tactics to terrify you. No, it built an amazing atmosphere and only acted when your back was turned or you were lured into trusting it for a moment. As for it's creative usage of system files and abstracting normal game mechanics, bravo. I've yet to run into a game that really tied itself down while stringing itself to a file system and external videos. I absolutely adored the intro, as well. Unlocking the closet reveals a completely different path while making you feel as if you just wasted your time and the key. The only real complaint I have.. is the 'true ending'. There is nothing left at this point, the world is yours to roam without consequence. You are alone and have nothing else, nor anyone else to blame. My immediate instinct when I saw the chair and noose next to Her grave, was to use it. It makes sense why it wouldn't work, but there is nothing left for you in this world. Perhaps a missed opportunity, or maybe the hollow feeling was intentional, and I simply expected too much. Despite the singular nitpick, this was an unforgettable game. Ten out of ten.
