I should mention, first of all, that I am new to shoot 'em ups, this is my first game in the genre. It is indeed a fun game. The patterns are exquisitely complex, and they often combine when having more than one enemy type on screen, leading the player to manuever extremely carefully in these scenarios. Obviously, there are some tools to ease survivability. Nevertheless, it provides quite a decent challenge. I still haven't played through the rest of the levels, I've only played through two. I recommend playing on Easy or even Normal for only a couple of levels, then playing the rest of the game (and replaying already completed levels) on Hard, since that's when the game truly tries to stop you in your tracks. The only downside that I did encounter was the fact that, at first, the game's framerate would be halved (from 60 FPS to 30 FPS) occasionally, something that usually should not be a problem, except for the fact that the enemies and projectiles' velocity is tied to the framerate. Ergo, when the framerate lowered, everything else slows down. This, however, was solved by reducing the resolution and disabling texture smoothing. Not just that, but I am the only one suffering from this issue. I've been asking around, and low-end desktop and laptop computers can run this game just fine, always at 60 FPS. So that's not a problem.
