(As a preface, I played the entire singleplayer campaign on the Switch, and bought this version out of curiosity regarding the visuals and load times for comparison's sake) A decent arcade racing foundation hampered by some baffling design decisions. For a start, the decision to put all the cars into a single class, making 99% of them utterly worthless, raises an eyebrow. As does the decision to put all the cars into a single pool of random lootboxes, making it increasingly difficult to avoid dupes. Why are the CPU cars so absurdly overtuned, even on medium difficulty? Is it because all players start with 3 lootboxes, meaning the devs had to account for the player potentially starting with the best car in the game? The decision to only use 5 generic environmental locales for all tracks, as well as using the same brightly-coloured plastic components for every single track in the game, means that there's very little to make each track memorable in its own right and prevent them from all blurring together in the player's memories. This makes playing through the singleplayer campaign especially repetitive, as I'll get into below. In addition, the singleplayer "City Rumble" campaign is full of strange decisions all of its own. Why are the only events on the map standard races and time trials, with basically no variation? Why are the "boss fight" races just regular races with annoying track hazards? Why do some tracks have 2 time trials, while others have zero? Why are multiple tracks featured 4+ times, while others are only on the map once? Were the devs really so proud of Garage Yo-Yo that it warranted being on the campaign map five times? Why does the same course have two time trials next to each-other on the map? Why does the one with the harder time need to be completed first? Honestly, the whole thing just felt extremely slapdash and bloated, and wasn't even remotely worth seeing through to the end. With that all being said, is the game still fun, though? Well, yes -- yes it is. As I said at the beginning of this review, the basic foundation the game is built upon is pretty good, it's just that everything piled atop it is severely flawed and prevents the overall package from reaching true greatness. As such, it's definitely worth a look at a heavy discount -- just don't expect the singleplayer offering to hold your attention for long. 6/10 -- A very tentative yes. Heavy discounts only.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 24: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I got this game for around 2 dollars, while it was on sale. Even then, I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone. Drifting is the main mechanic of the game, and it's also the most annoying aspect of it. You have to be machine-level precision to avoid bumping into walls while drifting, even with the best vehicle combinations. Also, the microtransactions are unnecessary to say the least. The game is somewhere near $60 by default, so hyper-specific collabs give me the impression that the devs were milking the game, rather than trying to improve the player experience. This game had a great foundation, but, in my eyes, it failed to uphold it. This game is a 6/10 from me.
No skippable intro and logo. Download a trainer for this game (wemod), because the further you progress, the more brazen and cheating the AI becomes, even on normal difficulty. It gets to the point where even with the infinite nitro cheat, you can lose. I dread to think how overpowered the AI is on hard difficulty. Auto-leveling and rubber bands. Even if you have a car with the highest stats, an AI car that's inferior to you in every way will beat you in a hurry. I've witnessed many times where, even with the infinite nitro cheat, I barely managed to close the gap, much less overtake. Physics, collision, and pinball ragdoll are for us, but hard rails are for the AI. When turning, walls are needed to stabilize your position and complete the turn, but the player's geometry is designed in such a way that you can get stuck in a wall, but not the AI's. If you ram the AI, it won't hurt them, but if it rams you, you might fly away, spinning wildly around your axis, or you might do a 180-degree turn. You need to take into account inertia, the turning curve, the amplitude, and obstacles, but the AI doesn't. The game features monster trucks. In the hands of the AI, this is the most cheating combination, but in the hands of a player, it's the worst combination, because you can easily fly away with a half-thrust from another small vehicle. Bottom line: Buy only with 75% discount. UPD: The game quickly becomes boring due to the paucity of gameplay mechanics and techniques. The main mechanic is to activate the nitro after a turn.
it runs fine on steamdeck not sure why it says unsupported

There is a lot to like about this game, but mainly it's a hell of a lot of fun. I'm playing on the Steam Deck. No need to change any settings, it plays perfectly straight out of the box.
Hot Wheels Unleashed, is one of most fun racing games I've ever played. Gameplay and graphics make it feel like you're actually playing with toy cars, and I think the in-game physics are similar to Rocket League, which is great because it allows you to fly around freely in certain parts of tracks. I completed all the achievements, but some of them were really challenging, especially "What do I do with so many?", For that one, I kept farming gold in Quick Race and Multiplayer, opened blind boxes, and dismantling the cars I got until the achievement popped. In Time Attacks, some tracks have incredibly tough "Unleashed times", meaning you have to race absolutely flawlessly; even the smallest mistake can cost you the win by just a second. The Multiplayer wasn't stable at all. Even with a good internet connection, other players had lag, their cars kept teleporting, and they were ramming randomly. If you want to 100% the game's achievements, I recommend getting the GOTY version when it's on sale.
