About
Horripilant is a chilling incremental dungeon crawl through the horrors of a forgotten underworld. Combining idler, puzzle and autobattler elements, you'll fight, mine, and think your way through the depths of a forsaken dungeon. With each step you'll grow stronger, but beware; every boon has its burden.
You awaken. An old, battered knight, lost in the darkest corners of an abandoned dungeon, with no memory of how you got there. The stench of decay permeates the thick air. The walls seem to whisper your name.
A strange tree catches your eye. Barely a sprout, growing in defiance of the dark. The voice demands you hit it. A twig breaks off onto the ground. The first of many.
Distorted moans echo from an empty staircase. Beckoning you. You must go down. It is your purpose...
Encounter bizarre characters, solve cryptic puzzles, and survive the horrors that lurk in every shadow. Will you escape this living nightmare, or will it consume you?

Incrementally gain and collect materials.
Combat horrific foes over 1000 floors in the dungeon.
Solve puzzles and explore the depths of your camp.
Upgrade your gear to venture deeper.
Meet God
Become worthy
Repeat, adapt, and survive. The depths need you, and you, them.

things get spooky AND number go up

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I've always been a fan of clicker/incremental games. By far, this has to be my favorite one. By the end of the game, I feel like everything clicks into place. Beautiful.
I was hooked before I even got past the menu. I adored the style: this grainy, low-res, almost off-putting style. I'm already a sucker for idle incremental games like Cookie Clicker, so this felt almost designed for my tastes. I went in expecting a straight forward kind of horror but came out having suck a huge amount of time into a pretty engaging incremental dungeon crawler with some interesting puzzles and a really cool final boss. So what I liked: - Simple core loop that slowly expanded as you progressed the game. - Offline resource gathering to offset the grindiness. - Interesting puzzles/ rooms to explore while you're waiting on resources or need a break from grinding the dungeon - Pretty cool monster designs - Excellent final boss sequence that really goes hard with some cool music What I didn't like: - I played on Steamdeck and some of the areas could trap you unless you specifically used the map to leave, and item names in the inventory not updating as you highlight them - Some of the puzzles were too cryptic and I admit I had to look up a guide in places to figure out what I needed to do. - Monster variety felt really thin early on, and when you finally get to see them they only last a few seconds because you're quite strong by that point. Overall, it's a pretty decent time sink, with a few puzzles that needed a wiki with some rough controls. But the systems, the puzzles and ending make it worth it in my opinion.
typically when i play idler games, i only ever log on to re-optimize things and claim offline rewards. this was almost never the case with horripilant. not only was i consistently kept engaged with the game, with its various puzzles and short term goals, but i was never simply down to a case of "oh i just have to wait for resources, ill be back in a week." the biggest help in maintaining my momentum and energy in-game was the fact that my clicks still retained weight in resource generation. add in the amazing artwork, audio, and worldbuilding and these were the perfect conditions to have me play and think about only this game for a whole month. i would say my only complaint is that you cant just automatically buy the max amount of upgrades available to you for any specific thing, but i argue that it helped build the atmosphere, as well as remain a reminder that i was the most direct driving force in this world. scrumptious game, like shovelling dirt into my mouth but in a really yummy way. :)
Fun game to chill and pour a few hours of your day into. Killed scary god and felt bad.
