Hidden Mysteries: Titanic

Love it

I got this game in a sale and I wouldn't really recommend it if that wasn't the case. The hidden object scenes are good, if a little too easy at times, and some of the puzzles were challenging but not too obscure as to be impossible. The voice acting I also found to be quite good. The art style is satisfying, with some lovely interiors. The main character's commitment to vandalism is humorously treated, which is a nice nod to how most characters go through this sort of games. However, technically the game struggles. Moving around can only be done via the map, which doesn't feel natural if you're used to more interactive HO games, and some of the objects to be clicked on are far too picky, you really have to get your mouse right on the correct pixel. Furthermore, some of the puzzles are really obtuse. At one point the player character does something and literally says she has no idea why she did it, only for it to become useful several stages later. So not the most natural gaming experience. As I said, I got the game in a sale and wouldn't have wanted to pay full price. It's clunky and occasionally frustrating, but it has all the components you need for a casual gaming experience. Don't expect too much, but it's a fair way to while away the time.
