HEVN was basically some attempt to create a ripoff of System Shock only this is so bad even Temu wouldn't touch it. It's a first person adventure where you're a mining engineer stuck on a planet, the ship/station/whatever is all busted up and everyone is dead, you need to fight/hack/explore your way out. An okay premise, but like I said, the implementation here, while genuine (and even has tolerable voice acting) is a dog's breakfast. On the upside, the game does feature customisable controls and resolution, so at least some of the basic, minimum requirements have been met. Unfortunately there's a number of other technical defects and shortcomings which contribute to the game being difficult to recommend to gamers. The game UI and mouse handling are pure jank. The UI is a horrible mess... unpolished and as far from following conventions as you could get. Heck, the game UI isn't even consistent with itself in the game. The graphics aren't great. Low quality, low poly mismatched assets that provide genuinely poor visuals and make the game look amateurish and sloppy. That will understandably a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is also reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 8 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 130 million gamers on Steam and well over 140,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. Despite not being listed as Early Access, this game comes across as unpolished/incomplete and probably should be in Early Access. Worth taking into account if you're considering putting your money into this. Next is pricing and value. Is this game worth buying from among the 140,000+ games on Steam? HEVN has the farcical price of $10 USD, for which you could easily get any number of older AAA games. For comparison, the $10 asking price for this game could get you games like "Far Cry 5", "Prey" or "Bioshock Infinite". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
Ich weiß nicht ob es ein Bug ist, aber es ist nicht möglich den ersten Raum mit dem Alien zu verlassen. Der Defibrilator aus dem Youtubevideo ist nicht da. Refund :(
Way too janky and once I heard the text to speech voices and the awful time limit race, I am done.
